I'll be going up to camp today! I'm a camp counselor for a few weeks this summer...it's my favorite place in the world (it's located in Northern Minnesota).

On another note, I've been thinking about something for the past few weeks. In about a year's time, I might enlist in the United States Army. I was poking around on their website, and there are SO many different careers you can get into there. You can be a mental health care specialist! I want to be a psychologist meaning I'd have to go to a few years in grad school, and grad school for a degree in psychology is supposed to be VERY competitive, and being in the army would score me some major brownie points with grad schools.. In the army, I'd have so many eye-opening experiences (good and bad)...and money for college. I feel that it would make me feel better about myself. I met with a recruiter yesterday. He was very nice...he was once stationed in Afghanistan...he's in the infantry, meaning he's basically in the front lines. Being a mental health care specialist, I'd have 9 weeks of basic training (aka boot camp), and then 19 weeks of advanced training. My two years will start after that.

Wow, I just spewed out a bunch of information! Thanks for listening. Hope you guys are having a good summer day.

have a great time at camp. Make sure you talk to actual people in the military. Not those who the recruiters set up for you to talk to. Just other people who will be a bit more candid. I think its great that you want to do service for our country. I'm off to camp!

PLEASE DO NOT JOIN THE ARMY!!!!

If you have or show any human feelings w/i that 9 weeks of boot....they'll be discharging you after they scrape YOU off the bottom of YOUR field/drill sergeant BOOT! I was a crisis counselor before going in...I was used to looking ppl in the eye & I don't believe in kissing *** to brass!!(and they made me pay for that!)
They made my boot camp exp. a living nightmare!! However, the medical/psych training down in Ft. Sam Houston, TX was great (IT was February, it was 79 degrees & I'm from Wisconsin!)And I even got a very sincere marriage proposal
by graduation!

THINK IT THROUGH!!!! TALK TO YOUR T......don't listen to any sweet-talking recruiter's *** until you have YOUR "plan of enlistment" signed BY & w/ THEIR blood. (Whew........sorry,"boot camp" and "Military service" terms
are REALLY big triggers to me!!
boot camp I'm off to camp! I'm off to camp! I'm off to camp! I'm off to camp! I'm off to camp! I'm off to camp!

PEACE TO ALL WHO ENTERED IN THE 70's...........DAYZEE9 I'm off to camp!
