I'm thinking a lot (probably more than I should) about this lately. Feeling a lot of regret. Feeling flawed, and wondering how to move on. I do realize much of this has to do with upbringing and conditioning. ...Made so many mistakes, yet my life is actually kinda good.

Even though the picture is black and white...and the thought is too.... there's more to life than that I think?

Some things just "are" don't you think?

Thanks, Muffy!
When I post things like that, I usually regret it! But, yes, even today, while taking a nap, I woke up with a start, not with the memory of a mistake, but of myself just out of college, having to return to my home in the coalfields, struggling at what I was going to do. Doesn't sound so tragic, I guess, but it is how I've evolved to where I am today, with choices made by other people.
Now I'm independent, but still struggle with it, probably from past conditioning.

I think that there's a large element of truth in the quote. I've struggled a lot over the last 18 months over what I've "lost" due to addiction and mental illness. My life is slowly getting back on track, although I still struggle, and I've made the choice to view the past 18 months not with regret but rather as a voyage that I've been on that has changed me a lot as a person.
