They make me sick I've been anxious about this appointment. I get dropped off at this massive hospital by my friend bless her .... try to find my way round, all the time wanting to cry because i am on my own and feeling a bit vulnerable. I find reception, get told to sit down. My hubby came and i just burst into tears i'd worked myself up so much in front of a waiting room full of people......my appointment is an hour late .... i go in his room, he tells me i should have rec'd a scan appointment .... i told him i had to call the hospital to find out when my appointment was cos noone had written to me. On the phone they said i should have a scan today also ..... i was in his room 2 minutes .... he booked a scan and an appointment for 5 days before we go on holiday. I told him i suffer with anxiety and i could have done without this as it was a complete waste of time. He says 'well we needed to check the pain kevels.' Geeeze if i was in the pain i was in before i would have been rushed in again .... the nurse told me it had been an error in the system and booked it while i was there for next time ..... when i told him i suffered from anxiety and had worked myself up, he just said 'we'll see you in a month'.

i could have slapped his face so i get out of his room, burst out crying again and told the nurse i dont want to see him again. Next time i have to ask for his registra.

i am so angry and frustrated, i still don't know wether i need surgery and now if i do may have to cancel my holiday down at Tonys parents by the sea.

You know what? I'll reveal an experience I once had.

I am a recovering addict. I overdosed on ecstacy one night.

I was yelled at, called a liar, threatened to be put in a back hallway if I didn't shutup because people were trying to sleep - all because I was having an anxiety attack about dying while lying there alone.

I have never been treated so poorly in my life, and i was upfront and honest to them about what I had used and what happened. I may have been on drugs but i still damn well deserved respect and care not to be treated like a leper.

At one point the nurse actually told me I did it to myself so i should suffer as much as possible.

How can medical staff be so cold? I realize its a hard job but human compassion man!

dr's... can be such... JERKS.... notice the caps...

and... one time my son went into er...lungs collapsed again.. and the resident.. made us wait for a bed.. cause.. I wouldn't.. let him put a tube.. in my son... wanted specialest to do it in the morn..

The JERK... made us wait.. and wait.. till a nurse went to bat.. course.. he chewed her out ..

I'm sorry you had this experience jinnyann...it is an awfull feeling..that of powerlessness...

It comes in many forms and often when you most need power...like your experience and many others...

There are folks who did not find their calling and some unfortunately end up in provding health services to those of us who need it...I mean a bad mechanic is dissappointing and frustrating but a poor doctor is dangerous...

And on top of it all it can get worse for you if you try to change them....spite is a nasty response from a health provider...

So,,your decision in not seeing him again is probably a good one...do some homework...ask around,,see if you can get recommendations...they are the best marketing...from a patient or two who has only great things to say...

Please take care of yourself,,,sometimes we are all we have..but then again,,,you got us....

thankyou all for responding to this .... the thing is, i had another 2 apointments, one with the bet gaeny doc in our city, this jerk cancelled that one and the other .... I saw so many diffrent ones cos it was a ank holiday in the UK both times i was in hospital one doc said he wanted me to see the best.....i told this jerks nurse i wish i'd stuck wi him and she was the one who told me to not see Mr Amer and see a registra instead .... she was a lovely irish nurse who pur her arm around me and comforted me when i told her i'd been passed from pillar to post.

(((((Jinny))))) Good doctors are so hard to find these days. And when you do find a good one, you have to keep your mouth shut cause once ppl find out about them, they're impossible to get into.

They are getting harder to find .... my problem is i picked 2 bank holidays to be in pain lmao .... typical ... so doctors are in short supply, paperwork goes missing and peeps like us get the short straw.

I have another appointment in July WITH a scan this time, so it should be sorted. i'm calmer now and can see things differently. If i need surgery i may have to miss my holiday that's the only downfall, i look forward to my week down south by the dorset sea every year (Tonys prents live there)but we can go anytime.

However i refuse to miss my music festival the weekend after even if i have to go with my dressing gown and a drip attached!
