Hey Fayerody~
It is a good song huh? I mean to me it really made you feel you werent alone there. I think alot of us wonder about where we belong in the world after times like these. How we seemingly got misplaced from the arms of someone who was supposed to protect us from harms way. And now we need to find our way back to security and to love ourselves. It really hard to do. But I think it is doable with time and healing. Take care to you and all others out there who feel this has touched them in some way.

Hugz~ if you want them

Thank you, Beth.......yes, it's hard to survive in a world when you don't know where you fit in. I was watching Phil Donahue, which I never, ever watched, and a woman my age came on and was talking about abuse and all at once........boing! It hit me.....I remembered everything. It was particulary hard to forgive my mom. P

You've Got A Friend Words and music by: Carol King

Lyrics: When you're down and troubled
And you need some loving care
And nothing, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend

If the sky above you
Grows dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind begins to blow
Keep your head together
And call my name out loud
Soon you'll hear me knocking at your door

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there

Ain't it good to know that you've got a friend
When people can be so cold
They'll hurt you, and desert you
And take your soul if you let them
Oh, but don't you let them

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend

"Echo" by Trapt

Close my eyes
Let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time
To waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride,
(Asking why)

I think about your face
And how I fall into your eyes
The outline that I trace
Around the one that I call mine
Time that called for space
Unclear where you drew the line
I don't need to solve this case
And I don't need to look behind

[Chorus]

Do I expect to change, the past I hold inside,
with all the words I say,
repeating over in my mind,
some things you can't erase, no matter how hard you try,
an exit to escape is all there is left to find.

Close my eyes
Let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time
To waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride,
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo in my mind
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo can subside

(I know I always loved you)
(I know I always loved you)
(I know I always loved you)

So I close my eyes
Let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time
To waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride,
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo in my mind
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo can subside

This is for all the Groholers~~~~~~~~~~~

Kind and Generous

La-la-la-la...
You've been so kind and generous
I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness, I'm in debt to you
For your selflessness, my admiration
For everything you've done, you know I'm bound
I'm bound to thank you for it

La-la-la-la...
You've been so kind and generous
I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness, I'm in debt to you
And I never could have come, this far without you
For everything you've done, you know I'm bound
I'm bound to thank you for it

La-la-la-la...
Oh, I want to thank you for so many gifts you gave
The love, the tenderness, I wanna thank you
I want to thank you for your generosity, the love
And the honesty that you gave me
I want to thank you show my gratitude
My love, and my respect for you, I want to thank you
Oh, I want to thank you, thank you; thank you, thank you
I want to thank you, thank you; thank you, thank

one time, years ago, my best friend and i went to Eureka Springs, Ark.....we checked into hotel and then walked out on to open air bar balcony and there before our eyes was a HUGE statue of Jesus...being the irreverent person that i can be at times, i said "Jesus Christ!" and my friend said "yup, it is"........

don't you just love Natalie Merchant. she's cooler than cool. Dave loves her too. he had her on two nights in a row this year!!!! yea, Dave!!!!!!!

Okay, Jesus is posted in the photo section. I didn't know whether to put the pic in inspirational or humor, as it seems I would offend somebody either way. So he's in my gallery.

We've been so long without sunshine and now that we have it......I had to post something to celebrate!!! The governor of Louisiana, Jimmy Davis, wrote this many, many years ago........the version by Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan is probably my favourite. Here's to sunny and cold days!!!

You Are My Sunshine
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away

The other nite, dear,
As I lay sleeping
I dreamed I held you in my arms.
When I awoke, dear,
I was mistaken
And I hung my head and cried.

You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.

I'll always love you
And make you happy
If you will only say the same
But if you leave me
To love another
You'll regret it all some day;

You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.

You told me once, dear
You really loved me
And no one else could come between
But now you've left me
And love another
You have shattered all my dreams;

You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.

Louisiana my Louisiana
the place where I was borne.
White fields of cotton
-- green fields clover,
the best fishing
and long tall corn;

You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.
Crawfish gumbo and jambalaya
the biggest shrimp and sugar cane,
the finest oysters
and sweet strawberries
from Toledo Bend to New Orleans;

You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.

Jukebox Hero
music and song lyrics by Foreigner

Standing in the rain, with his head hung low
Couldn't get a ticket, it was a sold out show
Hear the roar of the crowd, he could picture the scene
Put his ear to the wall, then like a distant scream

He heard one guitar, just blew him away
Saw stars in his eyes, and the very next day

Bought a beat up six string in a secondhand store
Didn't know how to play it, but he knew for sure

That one guitar, felt good in his hands
Didn't take long, to understand
Just one guitar, slung way down low
Was a one way ticket, only one way to go
So he started rockin' ain't never gonna stop
Gotta keep on rockin'
Someday he's gonna make it to the top

And be a JUKE BOX HERO got stars in his eyes
He's a JUKE BOX HERO
He took one guitar stars in his eyes
JUKE BOX HERO he'll come alive tonight

In a town without a name, in a heavy downpour
Thought he passed his own shadow, by the backstage door
Like a trip through the past, to that day in the rain'
And that one guitar made his whole life change

Now he needs to keep rockin' he just can't stop
Gotta keep on rockin' that boy has got to stay on top

And be a JUKE BOX HERO got stars in his eyes
He's a JUKE BOX HERO stars in his eyes
Yeah JUKE BOX HERO got stars in his eyes

WITH THAT ONE GUITAR he'll come alive
Come alive tonight

I listen to this a lot when I'm starting into a depressive slide. I like to think of it as a song to God.

Half-Life, by Duncan Sheik

I'm awake in the afternoon
I fell asleep in the living room
and it's one of those moments
when everything is so clear

before the truth goes back into hiding
I want to decide 'cause it's worth deciding
to work on finding something more than this fear

It takes so much out of me to pretend
tell me now, tell me how to make amends

maybe, I need to see the daylight
to leave behind this half-life
don't you see I'm breaking down

lately, something here don't feel right
this is just a half-life
is there really no escape?
no escape from time
of any kind

I keep trying to understand
this thing and that thing, my fellow man
I guess I'll let you know
when i figure it out

but I don't mind a few mysteries
they can stay that way it's fine by me
and you are another mystery i am missing

It takes so much out of me to pretend

maybe, I need to see the daylight
to leave behind this half-life
don't you see I'm breaking down

Lately, something here don't feel right
this is just a half-life
is there really no escape?
no escape from time
of any kind

come on lets fall in love
come on lets fall in love
come on lets fall in love
again

'cause lately something here don't feel right
this is just a half-life,
without you I am breaking down

wake me, let me see the daylight
save me from this half-life
let's you and I escape
escape from time

come on lets fall in love
come on lets fall in love
come on lets fall in love
again

Here's another one by Duncan Sheik that I really like -- a good rebuttal to people when they tell you to "snap out of it."

Reasons for Living, by Duncan Sheik

Everyone's looking, everyone hides
Everyone's telling, but everyone lies
We're changing the subject, we're turning away
Away from the heart of it all

You say you are happy
Do you think this is fun?
Well it's only a firefly to the light of the sun
You say this is living, you feel so alive
Well you know everything dies

Even my wonder, even my fear
Only amount to a couple of tears
There is a rhythm, it's near and it's far
It flows through the heart of us

Welcome to another day
It don't seem that different 'cause nothing has changed
I try to remember, try to remember
When we weren't just running in place
Reasons for living, never come cheap
But even your best ones can put me to sleep
What I am saying or trying to say
Is that there must be a better way

Even my wonder, even my fear
Only amount to a couple of tears
There is a rhythm, it's near and it's far
It flows through the heart of us

It's already in you, it's already there
You may disagree, but I don't really care
Did you ever find out, did you ever find out
What's at the heart of us?
Did you ever find out, did you ever find out What's at the heart?

Tell me all you wildest dreams
I don't really care if you don't know what they mean
We're raiding the closets with skeleton keys
You know it's easier than you think

Even my wonder, even my fear
Only amount to a couple of tears
There is a rhythm, it's near and it's far
It flows through the heart of us
Your reasons for living are all very fine
But they're leaving me cold, 'cause they're not really mine
Did you ever find out, did you ever find out?
What's at the heart of us?

I don't know
I don't know

"It's the heart, afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance.
It's the dream, afraid of waking, that never takes a chance.
It's the one who won't be taken, who cannot seem to give.
And the soul, afraid of dyin', that never learns to live".

this is for you, Tryin...............xoxo

My favorite Christmas song is "Angels We Have Heard On High." Although I could also make a case for "Hark the Herald Angels Sing." :-)
