I recently got some good news, anyway, i thought things would improve, but mentally i am still flat . . . i guess they are telling me i need to get a job and move out, but what for? i really don't see myself having a family or anything like that, so how do i motivate myself when i don't have anything to look forward to?

Might it help to make short term goals now and work towards them so you aren't feeling overwhelmed with any long term stuff at the moment? Starting out small and manageable may be the way to go. Once you have your footing and some success at reaching your short term goals, then you can begin working on longer term goals. A lot of times we have to learn what we are capable of in the short term so we can apply it to the longer term Flat Step by step to help build our confidence in ourselves!

Wishing you well!

Sometimes the struggle can make life worth living. Allow yourself to be pleasantly surprised. You may find yourself feeling more optimistic.

(((((BiscuitTin))))) Baby steps. Once you get a job, hopefully you'll find someone you like there to socialize with. Even if you don't you have a reason, a purpose to get out of bed in the morning.

yeah i guess just flatness is the problem, also doing anything that isn't instant gratification is a problem for me, it makes me stressed . . . for example, i've been 'meaning' to fix my mums computer for a couple of years, but yeah, i'd have to go to a computer market and buy a mouse, then i'd need to install software on it .. . i suppose if i went to all that trouble, it would be like being awake, and i am more comfortable goingo through life in a sleep.

BiscuitTin,

I really do know how you feel. I've been there myself, sometimes the idea of everything you have to do is so overwhelming you just want to pull your covers over your head and let the world go by. But just take everything one step at a time.

It really is possible to adjust to a work environment. You will get a comfort zone there too. It won't be immediate, I won't lie, but one day you'll wake up to go to work and the pit in your stomach won't be so large. If you're very lucky, you'll meet some interesting fun people there that you look forward to seeing.
