Went to the oral surgeons office....I was so scared. getting the surgery over with

They took me back and a second later I said I have to go to the bathroom. They seemed used to that. Came back to the dreaded chair and she immediately starts the preps.

A blood pressure cuff, a pulse oximeter, and 2 heart monitors later I am sitting there about to have a panic attack. The dr comes over to say hello and "he'll be with me in a moment" yeah...he can take is time...

hes giving some guy stitches and theyre just all chatty. wow. the nurse lays this plastic apron on me. geez thanks. we having lobster later? then she aks for the ok to put something on me. i started freaking inside and she puts oxygen in my nose. yuck smells like vanilla.

i lay there and count my heart beats. it jumps a bit off and on. think they can tell im really anxious? dr comes in all suited up in yellow. he listens to myheart and lungs and then checks my blood pressure.

"so, where you going on your vacation this morning? the beach? somewhere its cool?"

i basically didnt answer. just kept breathing.

he asked what i had for breakfast. ahhaha funny i couldnt eat or drink since midnight the night before.

"a small mosquito bite here for a sec' IV is in and he starts injecting something. says it will calm me. injects another right after. they tape my arms down......reaaaaly taped them down. everythings getting weird feeling. he tells me to swallow. then i have to bite some thing so i wont clench my teeth.

i wake up with a blankie on shaking really bad. wheelchair to the car and a mouthful of gauze. yuck.

As hard as it was for you (((((( Hallie )))))) you did a great job of getting through it all. I'm very proud of you. Now, onto the healing...may be it fast and as painless as possible.

Take good care!

yay, you survived the worst of it. Now give yourself a couple of days to relax and recuperate. And follow whatever instructions they give you for brushing / rinsing to the letter.

I hope you don't have too much swelling.

You got through it well! Congrats! The hard part is over. Enjoy all the soft foods you can--like yogurt, kefir, jello, ice cream!! Those became my favorite foods after I got my tonsils out and I loved them so much I used them when I got my wisdom tooth pulled! But to me, any excuse is a great reason to eat those foods every day. getting the surgery over with

How are you doing now.....I know how scarry it is....as I am dreading having them all pulled & the rest of the surgery needed so that they can even do dentures........it's something that I wish was in the past......not the future......but the broken teeth are such a nuisance as it's almost impossible to even chew food at this point.

Hope you are healing well,
Debbie
