I think the treatment written about in this article may be a result of stigma attached to mental illness, even amongst the workers supposed to take care of them. And don't read it if it will trigger you -- you probably don't need it. Just read it if you are able to make some good use of the information:

This is completely outrageous! I hope that having this out in the open with mention of the hospital ( Kings County Hospital) will force the administrators to take measures so this never happens again

I understand about hospital emergency rooms being overcrowded, etc. and people occasionally falling through the cracks (been there, done that) but the lying is wholly unconscionable. I don't care if you kick me but damn it, stand up and admit to kicking me!
