Sorry, I'm not sure of the best place to post this...
just wondering if anyone can direct me to the thread a little while ago about the scammer who was sending PMs to a number of ppl trying to get their personal email addresses...in the thread was a link to sending emails from an anonymous account...which is what I am specifically looking for. Any help much appreciated thanks The 'scammer' thread???

the account might be anonymous but you aren't. mail not read as web mail has internet headers including your IP address. if you have a static IP thats it.
i have traced emails sent to me via yahoo france to a dial-up in tunis tunisia eg. the scammer attempted to provoke me as an american during the recent war by writing various requests to me and signing as bin laden. he got my address from a more public bbs than this one.
i suppose you could use an internet proxy and secure tunneling. even that leaves electronic fingerprints.

thanks; I wasn't going to elaborate but don't want to worry or scare anyone about my intentions so guess I should just clarify a little. I want to request some information (not personal, but able to be 'linked' with me) but have discovered that the person who will receive the request is someone who knows me. I remembered something in that thread about anonymous emails, and thought that it might help me here...
