In the mail today i received a letter saying they want me to see one of their psychologist/psychiatrists. What sort of things can i expect at this meeting? Obviously lots of questions but is it similar to meeting a regular psychologist for first time? Any tips hints cheat codes out there? I feel like i should qualify but it seems like no one is approved the first time which is depressing but im keeping my hopes up. Its not until september which gives me a lot of time to worry.....blech. If they deny you and claim you have ability to work do they help you find work? If they approve you do you see a check pretty quick? Lots of annoying questions, sorry ssi questions

first off if you think you can cheat these guys think again! they can see right thru it. the one I saw only saw me for about 15 minutes and he was on the phone for 10. this was a few yrs ago though.

the one i saw lasted about 10 minutes while she ignored my obvious signs of panic attack, asked me about 3 questions which she cut me off as i was trying to answer and declared me mildly depressed. i have since been diagnosed with panic disorder with agoraphobia, ptsd, and that is in 1 visit with pdoc and 2 with therapist. approx 75% of people get turned down on the first app, 85% on the reconsider. the good news is, the administrative law judge(takes a long time to get in) approves better than 50%. good luck.

Thanks! Cheat codes was a bad joke. I dont think id have to fool anyone. I just know how these things happen. Once i was getting unemployment in my early 20's. I got a phone call one day and they asked if id take ANY job. Now i imagined lots of jobs that i couldnt do. I have a big imagination so i thought about really gross things that there arent even jobs for. So i replied no, they told me i no longer qualified and hung up. I dont want that to happen here.

I DID NOT suggest cheating ANYONE! What I said is to give as much info as possible to help with this decision. I have helped hundreds of people with this process and know that we often do not give the information needed as it may not be specifically asked. Therefore it is very important to give the info you think is pertinent.

I would never suggest doing anything dishonest.
