I'm so glad she decided to evacuate - I've been reading about the storm and thinking about her all day.

I want to thank you all for you well wishes, thoughts and prayers.

We left at 9am thismorning (Sunday) and got to Jackson, Miss around 7pm (i think).

I did not take my truck with me. I dropped it off at a friends house in Covington, along with all my stuff, including clothes. I did pack one suitcase. I left all my cds and dvds of my family and friends that i was able to save from katrina.

I just heard from my friend, who's house i left it at and she told me that the camper top has blown off of my truck, so they are trying to get everything into their house. They are going to put it into there attic and are going to try and evacuate now, if they are allowed too.

My brother called and said his friend Troy who stayed in Metairie, called him to make sure we left, because he has been seeing tornaodos for while down our way. He said local news has said a few have already touched down in the Chalmette area.

According to what Troy also told him is that st bernard is expecting up to a 20 foot surge with another 10-15 feet of waves above that.

So, ya'll. In other words my house is gone again, everything i own is gone again, my truck is gone. Like last time all i have is the small suitcase of summer clothes i brought with me, that i now own.

I dont have but a few minutes of internet access at this hotel, even though they are suppose to have hi-fi in all the rooms. Sorry, everything is getting to me right now. I'm going through emotions from one extreme to the other.

I will try and post again tomorrow or the following day.

Thank you all, and i love you all

I have a few more to bring to this thread and I'm working on it. Sorry it looks a bit funky...but felt funky is better than not migrating this thread over. Chalm needs all our support right now!

I know that sometimes when we thing the worse is going to happen, then it doesn't we are so relieved because we know just how bad it really could have been.....after going through Katrina.....you definitely KNOW how bad it can really be.....so your thoughts are within the realm of reality....nothing wrong with that. It is still best to deal with what IS, not what might happen. Just a little change can make it all not happen the same way again. I remember when a huge tornado.....4 blocks wide was heading right for my grandparents house in Topeka Kansas......one moment......the next, it had turned & was going the past without touching a thing.....the others in the path were hit....but they were spared. We never know what control God has with his nature & what will really happen until it does.

My prayers for your safety are answered....you are safely away from the danger.....my prayers are still for the storm to calm down before heavy damage will happen to an already damaged area........waiting to see the answer to that prayer.

Know that you are loved & cared about & in my prayers,
Debbie

Chalm,

Really glad that you're safe and out of the storms way. I'm sorry that it looks like your losing everything again - I can't even imagine how awful that must feel. But the main thing is you're safe. I've been thinking about you all day as I watched the storm news.

Hang in there. You're one strong cookie.

Hey Cuz. From what I'm seeing on CNN and the weather channel, St. Bernard missed the worst of it. There were some issues around Shell Beach but everything i've seen about Chalmette has been positive. Have faith, I think it will work out. Your Cajun Cuzin
