So can anyone tell me how to mark ALL posts read with out actually reading them? there are certain discussion areas I get too triggered to enter and i have this thing about stuff being "checked" or "clean"...Thanks!

Sure can. Go into your Profile page. You will see MAINTENANCE and there on the bottom line in that box is where it lists those you ignore, marked as read, etc.
