I am so angry right now!!

Poor Jeremy.

I went to grab a wipe last night fresh out of the container to clean his bum, and started wiping him clean when he started crying for no reason. I looked and he was all scratched up, and upon closer inspection there was a RUSTY PIN embedded in one of the wipes

It scratched him all up. He will be fine but how in the holy hannah does a rusty pin get into a pack of BABY WIPES?

I am contacting the company and will definetly give them a peice of my mind, thats just not right.

OH MY GOSH! I would be really angry, too! I would call them and I wonder if you should take him to the Dr. to make sure there wasn't anything on that pin. I hear just having rust on it can cause issues.

I hope Jer is ok. I hope YOU are ok, too!

I called the hospital, and because the scratches didn't actually break the skin they told me he is going to be fine. I may still take him up in the morning if they are red still but I was told to put some zinc cream on it and just watch it.

but seriously, thats a MAJOR MAJOR mistake to make!!

Dear rainbow and jeremy,

i am so sorry that happened, how rotten that such a thing should happen to the little guy. Is he up on his tetanus - it is part of the dpt vaccine they give them several times. Rusty things can give problems if they break the skin.

I'm just glad that he wasn't hurt more. This is really bad.
It should heal quickly though. I just wish it hadn't happened to you all. Hug him for me. I hope to be a grandmother someday.

OMG! I would be angry too! I hope you are able to get a hold of the company... Maybe should contact the store you bought them at too... I hope it was a horrible over look and not someone deliberately being cruel... (((((Jeremy and Mommy))))

just a suggestion..you might consider contacting the department of human services (child wellfare division) and your local health department..i agree with the above posts...DO take pictures and do NOT destroy the evidence..put it in a zip lock bag and keep it safe..

im very sorry this has happened to you and jeremy..i hope all is well

hugs

an update for you guys:

The pharmacy that makes the wipes(they were store brand) is being very good about all this. I spoke with a guy named Greg from our Atlantic headquarters near me and he apologized profusely, and was really wanting to know if Jeremy was ok. He is ok, and both because hes had his tetanus(in the Dtap like multi said) and because it didnt actually break the skin he will be ok.

Greg from Pharmasave is contacting their national office, and is arranging to have the pack and the pin sent back to them so they can analyze it, I guess to prevent anything further from happening or making sure its not some sort of machine defect? I dont know.

But at least they are being conscientious about the whole ordeal.

That's good that this Greg seems to be doing the right thing. If it had happened to me and one of my grandkids, I'd have a pound of flesh!!

Poor baby! Give him a great big hug from me and next time his bum is bare... and CLEAN, of course, give it a couple of kisses for me. There's nothing sweeter or softer than a baby's butt.

I would ask that the pin be analyzed, and the wipe. What would a pin be doing in the same area of the manufacturing of baby wipes? It's a terrible thought, but there may have been something ON the pin to add to the intent of the culprit.

Write down date, time, situation ...everything you can remember thinking and when you called who you talked to etc. You probably won't need any of that information, but if you do, you'll have it.

Rainbowzz,

How awful for you and poor little Jeremy. I'm glad that the company is being responsive. I'm also glad that Jeremy is up on his shots and that the scratches didn't break the skin.

(((((((((rainbowzz & Jeremy)))))))))))))))),

How sad that things like this happen. It is a good thing for company to take back the package of wipes & expecially the one with the pin so they can analyze not only the packaging of the wipes, but also the pin & how it got into the wipe. The company can't afford for things like this to happen either.....so it is wonderful that they are agressivly loking into it rather than sticking their heads in the sand.

Wise that you brought it to their attention also. I always to things like that when something is seriously wrong with a product. Most always stand in back of their products beyond

It's tough to be that responsible Mother when so many things keep happening......keep up being the wonderful Mom you are,
Debbie

I'm so glad that you're getting to the bottom of this. When I think of how many diapers I changed in near darkness... how horrible.
