Hi all! I just thought I'd let everyone know that I created a new social group for people who have issues with emotional blunting (diminished emotional intensity) or/and emotional supression. If someone in your life is dealing with this issue, or if you are personally dealing with it, then I'd love to have you join, but of course, everyone is welcome.

"Emotional Blunting Social Group" Sounds interesting. I'm pretty good at "emotional suppression". So, what would this group do, extacly? I'm pretty new to this site and might be interested in joining.

Hey LadyHermit! Welcome to the site! Sorry I didn't respond sooner, but I have been away and while I did log on for a bit, I really didn't get a chance to respond to anything. I also pm'd this to you because I figured since I took awhile to respond in the forums, you might miss it. I hope you do not mind.

The social groups can be found by going into your profile and looking down the side list. People talk amongst themselves within these group. In our group we could discuss how this issue affects us (whether beneficial or problematic), as well as possible causes (reasons for consciously supressing, as well as causes for unintentional/automatic supression and blunted emotions), and ways of overcoming it, for those who want to.

People who have loved ones with this issue may also discuss how they themselves are affected by it, and how they deal with that, and they can have an exchange with the people who have blunted or supressed emotions. Hopefully we can learn from one another or at least feel less alone. Information shared could be personal experience, abstract thoughts and feelings, or the results of scientific studies. All is welcome.

Also, there is the option of making our own forum on the site under social groups towards the bottom. So far only one social group has done so, but if there is enough interest in this, I will try to make one for us. Perhaps we could even meet for unofficial chats?

Anyway, thank you for your interest.
