I thought this went along very well with Tomi's Communication thread. Especially the part about "Alarming You's and Disarming I's." I did the exercises with "you can't make me" and the invisible rope with my girls at work this weekend, and thought the way this guy put it was really good.

Thank you for posting the link. I started reading, but I will finish it when I have more time to concentrate. It looks very insightful.

Interesting reading. Thanks.
Anger in any shape or form is one of those many things now labeled politically incorrect. Beware of the thought police.

It is a bit long, isn't it? To summarize briefly, anger can be constructive or destructive and controlled or spontaneous. When anger is used appropriately, it is a powerful and important tool.
It gets into "you" statements, which put blame on the other person, and "I" statements, which take responsibility and disarm the person you find yourself arguing with, like letting go of your end of the rope in tug of war. You really need to read the article, though, to get everything out of it. ![]() The whole site looks good, but I haven't had time to read much other than the one article yet. The author considers himself a "psychohumorist," and his style is fun to read, although much of it went over the heads of my girls at work and I had to explain it to them.
