I don't know if anyone remembers me but one of my main issues I've been dealing with all my life is my absolute lack of any woman contact. While I know the primary reason for this is my physical appearance, other things such as awkward social skills factor in as well. As I'm about to turn 43, I've about reached the point of giving up hope but I also know I can't live the rest of my life like this. As one final attempt, I've signed up with the Yahoo Personals. To be sincere as possible and not mislead anyone, I also included my photo in the profile. For some strange reason though, I'm not really as excited as I should be about this. Maybe it's more of a curiosity I had to settle once and for all. I don't expect any replies but at least I will know I've done all I could. We'll see what happens.

That's ok. I think I'll pass on putting the photo here. Let's face it. No matter what people may think, I'll only be given positive feedback anyway. I don't think anyone would honestly say something like "Oh yeah, you do look goofy!" LOL

ISOLATED GUY: You've got to be joking! You're a perfectly normal looking person, and I find you quite pleasant-looking.
There's nothing about your appearance that would put off women. It must be your demeanor. Could be attitude or social skills or lack of confidence, or the way you carry yourself, or even the way you communicate.

Are you happy with your clothes? Do they need updating? Well, that's just another thought. And you might want to think about different glasses frames, or even contact lenses. Contacts are quite a bit of work, though. Make a deal with your optometrist to take them back and give you glasses if you don't feel comfortable with contacts after a few weeks' trial.

You might want to think about a slightly different haircut --- but maybe there's not a lot wrong with that one. Think carefully before you change it, and get some expert advice, because you need to consider your profile also. I only suggest that because you might really feel good about yourself if you get a super-hot haircut. I think your present cut might make you look a bit older than is necessary.

With the right cut you would look downright hot. Maybe a few locks hanging down on one side of your forehead? C'mon now. You can learn to use mousse or spray. I'll bet that's scary, because now you no longer have an excuse. You have to work on the other stuff. The looks part is easy. LOL

Adieu

Thanks for all the kindness. I've gone from no glasses to doing everything possible with my hair and it didn't matter. I just can't like the way I look when women treat me like I have the plague or something. But I've reached the point where I can't get hung up on how I look anymore. I can't change what IS and this will help me get over it.
Angie, I still can't view your pics. Maybe it's because I have MSN TV. As it is, I had to go to Kinkos to get my photos put on line.
Anyway, thanks again for everyone's support.

Then from what you say, I have to agree with adieu with it being something about your behaviour or some other issue that detracts from you. We weren't being kind, we were being honest. Personally, i see nothing wrong with your appearance at all.
