Congratulations.

Now, ummm, for the dunce of the week question. I realise it is a status level according to number of posts (I think) but where does the word "poobah" originate from?

(BTW - the little chap on your lap is quite handsome!)

Congratulatiions, Kimmy. Seems a bunch of us have "graduated" at the same time.

I had always thought that a "poohbah" was a word for a mideastern potentate -- probably of British origin. But I have NOT looked this up. I'm going on pure assumption here.

Sigh. Seems DocJohn needs to put definitions next to the titles on that page!

Etymology: Pooh-Bah, character in Gilbert and Sullivan's opera The Mikado (1885) bearing the title Lord-High-Everything-Else
1 : a person holding many public or private offices
2 : a person in high position or of great influence

Welcome to the hierarchy heheheh
