Do you think mental healt patients congregating with other mental health patients are a good source of support for meachother or do you think they feed of eachothers illnesses and make eachother unwell?

This Web site seems to suggest that support of like-minded people is good and valuable.

It depends on why you want to know.

I've seen it go both ways. Been in 3D support groups that were very helpful and, well, supportive. Been in others that each week it seemed like members were playing a game trying to have more/worse symptoms than others.
Have seen the same thing with on-line communities. Some - like PC - are warm and supportive. Been to some others that turned into snakepits of people trying to trigger on another or try to impress others with how bad off they were.
