When will I learn to avoid that one guy at work? He'll never give an affirming answer to anything. He always one-ups me - or corrects me and it makes me feel worthless.

Another guy is somewhat annoying but we kind of made up.

When I have a break between students, I'm going to bring in music I want to play or a book to read. Or talk to the women - they're ok.

I feel so incompetent and lazy right now. I know I don't DO as much as other people do. And I HATE it when they talk about how BUSY they are. I wish I was healthier so I could do more too. (But I'm seeing doctors and working on that - I have a lot of conditions to correct).

Many of these "busy" people you mention are that way because it's their way of avoiding other issues. They look happy on the surface but they're not. Come to think of it, that's the problem with this society.

I'm with you. It makes me tired just listening to what others accomplish, when I am so dsyfunctional and then it makes me feel worse for what I can't seem to do, which should be so simple, used to be so simple, feels like it will never again be so simple. people and comparing

Thank you Isolated and Angel. I hate that society is like it is. Everyone is so busy - no time for relationships or friendships, just busy, busy. It's to the point that when people say they are busy, I just roll my eyes or leave - it's such a pet peave of mine. THEY decided to be that busy. AND on top of that, some people only work so much because they have to HAVE so much stuff.

I'm really into the simplicity movement and I make it a point to have time to just talk to people. Maybe it's a little slow-paced, but it really IS my choice. Realizing that, in itself, is making me feel better.
