Most of you know about my tatoos, what they cover and what the represent to me. Well, let me just say that tatoo removal SUXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!! I went to one place that only wanted to do a small portion at a time. Well, I am the farthest thing from a patient man you'll probably ever find. I found another place that said over the phone that they'd do however much I could take. So I went in today and when he looked at the size recommended that we only do one arm at a time. I said screw that, do them both. I should have listened. My arms are ON FIRE!!! The white hot kind. Like the worst sunburn you've ever had times 10. I almost barfed once and almost passed out a couple times, but we got all of both arms done. Took a hell of a long time, but whatever. They'll start to fade soon. Another treatment in 3 to 4 weeks. Doc said 4 to 6 treatments and they'll be completely gone. YAY!!!

So sorry that it is hurting so much. But as you said if it only reminds you of painful days let them go. I think your heart and soul will be a bit more free by doing this.

Take good care!

Hi Ryan...

Glad to hear that you have taken this step for yourself, even if it is painful. Are you allowed to apply anything else? When I had a bad burn (from hot oil), I used Aloe gel (in addition to the cold packs). Hope you feel better soon!

Ohhhhh.... Ryan.... I had no idea. Well, I'm glad you're putting painful memories behind you. ((( ryan )))

... but, I have to admit that I LOVE sleeves. I think they're really sexy. When I first met my husband, he was a bike messenger and I was SURE that he had to have some really cool tattoos. By the time we got to the point where I could see him with his clothes off, I realized I had been baited and switched! No tattoos! Tatoo removal

LMAO Lee Ann (may I call you that?) If your hubby was a bike messenger, he is one brave cat. That's a hard core job. Maybe you could convince your hubby to get a few tats.

I'm sorry what you've gone through and now you're having the tattoos removed. That's a brave step and I'm glad that you're putting those painful memories behind you. But what about your scars, will you not see them? Tatoo removal ((((((((((Ryan))))))))))

Angel, there is another procedure to remove the scars, but I have to get the ink off first.

See if you can get some silvadine cream. My son had a terrible thermal burn on his bicep, hot water thrown at him, caused a huge burn and top layer of skin just peeled itself off. The doctor gave him a small jar of silvadine and it seemed to keep the pain down for him. Later when I fell against a table and laid my forearm against a roasting pan just out of oven the silvadine helped that burn too! Didn't even scar.

Wow, Rem, It's nothing short of courageous to face such a self prescribed rite of passage. That's the kind of thing that goes deep into you.

You are a brave soul. Letting go is never easy, and kudos for you. Closing the door to the past and opening up a new one for the future - a new beginning. I wish you the best.

Hmm. Did what I said make sense? Anyway. Tatoo removal

Ry, be sure to ask for the silvadine creme. If you don't need it today, get some for the next time. It works wonders. When I had massive burns on my hand, (even blisters under the nails), silvadine was my salvation.

Sorry I didn't think of it.

Dalila and Jan, I'm glad you mentioned the silvadine. Come to thing of it my mom burned the hell out of her wrist taking a turkey out of the oven when the foil pan folded... nasty 3rd degree burn from the turkey juices. Silvadine was what the gave her. Can you get that OTC?

It all sounds so painful to me but it's a brave thing you are doing. I hope you look into finding the cream that was suggested. When is your next session?
