What a day! I got in my car this morning to run some errands, not realizing the kind of mood I was in until I was out of the safety of my cave. Through the week, people are trying to run me over, going 10 or 15mph over the speed limit. Today everybody was just poking along, going under the speed limit. I keep getting madder and madder -- it's not like it was 1 car that I got behind that was going real slow, there were at least 4 different instances. I know I'm acting like a jerk and driving too aggressive but I can't help it. Finally get home and I'm just totally bugging out -- the smallest, dumbest things keep setting me off into hissy fits. I wanted so bad to break something, punch something, throw something -- you get the picture. I felt so frustrated and hostile I just wanted to scream. I couldn't calm down by reading because I couldn't concentrate, same goes for tv and movies. Too hyper for the computer and no one to talk to. I can't stand it when I'm like this!! Does anyone else get like this? If so, what do you do to calm down?

Please don't tell me that we had that conversation, 'Cause I won't remember, save your breath 'cause what's the use? Aahh, the night is calling, and it whispers to me softly, "Come and play". Aahh, I am falling, and if I let myself go I'm the only one to blame. I'm safe, up high, nothing can touch me, but why do I feel this party's over? No pain, inside, you're like perfection, but how do I feel this good sober?" (From the song "Sober", by Pink)

1 - hot shower
2 - breathe deeply, think about your breath as it goes into the tummy and out into the air 3 - stare at something, think about the object rather than people (any artsy books/comics) 4 - put on soothing music in your background (stay away from heavy music, more light stuff) 5 - look up at the sky, and really look into the deep blue and see what's appearing tonight 6 - make a warm cup of tea and get into pj's 7 - select a book for later, when calm 8 - maybe have a sketch book handy for later (or hobby item, or craft you are working on) 8 - eat a quiet, light meal, add a soup and a fresh juice 9 - look at tv programs for later when calmed down and even refreshed 10 - you can go to video store also, walk there if possible, and let the night air clear your head... (don't get action/hostile films but rather try for some comic relief, or documentary, like The Beautiful Truth, whatever is to your taste) Hope you are feeling better... having a plan for when in this situation, works for me... so I have a basket of self-soothing stuff to help me calm down and get peaceful when I'm fearful. Nothing wrong with treating ourselves like the good, big kids we really are inside! Peace and Love to You ... and good planning for bad days, as there are usually a few left for all of us, here and there.... Nightbird xoxoxo |

I usually end up laughing I'll FedEx ya some... Cap

Punch a pillow! (No harm can be done to it and you'll feel better for doing it.)
