Crisis Planning

"Part 7 - Treatment Facilities

Your supporters may not be able to provide you with home, community or respite care. You may need a safe facility, you may be taking medication that needs to be monitored or you might prefer to take part in a program at a treatment facility.

Using your personal experience and information you have learned through your own research or through talking with others, list those treatment facilities where you would prefer to be hospitalized if that became necessary, and list those you wish to avoid."
Thanks for this!

Does anyone have any WRAP-related questions?

It's a cloudy day here in this part of Florida, and I wanted to give an example of WRAP.

Under the Triggers heading, I could write this:
cloudy days

Now under the Triggers Action Plan heading, I could write something like this:
I will play upbeat music.
I will turn on my full spectrum light bulb or lamp.
I will take a walk outside (if it's not raining) because I might still get more light from the clouds than I would get inside.
I will sit with my children on my lap and read to them and laugh when them.

Feel free to give your own examples!

I hope you don't mind if I start posting here again.

Has anyone found this helpful?

Do you have any questions?

Do you have any success stories of how WRAP has helped you?

I hope you're having a great day!

Thanks for this thread Bipolarlady. I'm going to go back and reread it when I'm more awake. I just started a wrap group that is being run by my local mood disorders association. So far it seems really helpful, even if a lot of the stuff, that I had to put together as part of my safety plan, when I was inpatient last winter.

[QUOTE=bipolarLady7;2889856]bootsiepries, you're welcome. It's best if you own the red WRAP book by Mary Ellen Copeland, or you are able to be taught by a WRAP facilitator in person, but if you can't afford it and/or don't have a class in your area (with the possible exception of going inpatient, but not all hospitals have WRAP facilitators and it's very expensive to go inpatient!), this is hopefully the next best thing.

How do you find a WRAP class?

You're welcome, splitimage. I'm very glad to hear that it is helpful for you and hopefully others.

Redbandit, that's a great question. I just searched "wrap class" and individual states' websites came up, so maybe if you search your state (if you're in the United States) like for example "Minnesota WRAP classes" that might help. Please let me know if it works.

I know that in Nebraska, in the Omaha area, there's something called Community Alliance and when I was there three years ago, there were WRAP classes at both locations in Omaha. Welcome to Community Alliance
