I think the laws towards marijuana in a lot of places causes more paranoia...as for health well if one vaporizes it, uses edibles or tinctures there really isn't a significant health risk. The main risk is some people are allergic to it and some people find the effects unpleasant so they could react badly to it.

The laws are going to keep changing here in the US, and it will become more and more available. Still illegal Federally so technically illegal in every state but they don't enforce it so.....cuz we got a president who was a pot head and doesn't really care about it.
I wonder if you can order from Colorado over the internet kind of underground lol. Like I said though I tried it for depression and no bueno. I don't see it working for depression. Quote:

I would try finding a "corrective" art therapy situation to work on the PTSD caused by bad experiences. I would not want to take drugs of any sort if I could work my way out of my difficulties with better experiences to counter bad ones (like therapy for one's difficult childhood experiences). Drugs cannot heal, they are only palliative at best while one's body heals/gets better function back and often have so many side effects it is a toss up if it is worth it?

I doubt someone from out of state could order cannabis from here without getting in trouble...though there are scammers that say they can sell over the internet. People from out of state can buy some if they are in colorado, still probably illegal to take it back to their state.

I don't know anything about the brain damage studies, but isn't there an increased risk of schizophrenia if an already predisposed individual uses marijuana during their late teens?
Really though, the health argument over marijuana is a smokescreen. There are many, many pharmaceutical drugs that have far more serious known side-effects than what marijuana might have. The real aversion is they don't want to legalize something that people can high off of. However, if you're dealing with strains that have a really low THC level it wouldn't be prone to that kind of abuse, because it wouldn't give the desire effect. Equating the two would be like lumping together a 40% alcohol Tequila with a 0.5% alcohol cooler. If they are willing to distinguish between poppies, why lump together all the marijuana strains? |

I agree with both Trebyn and Hellion. I personally think it is harmless from my own experience and the experience of my friends. There are many drugs including pharmaceuticals that are much more harmful. I do believe that it has helped epileptics. For sure in small doses for anxiety or whatever it is going to be harmless at least in comparison to benzo's for example who have a whole bunch of problems.
All the evidence is mostly anecdotal though and based on peoples experience. that can be very powerful evidence but I like to look to the hard scientific data. There is not that much of that. All the big research institutions are afraid to touch it due to political reasons. I know from my own use it caused memory problems and motivation problems when I was using. Like I said on the good stuff I could wander around all day at work looking for my tape measure in my hand. My co workers and I agreed no good stuff at work because we couldn't stay on task. I am more talking about heavy chronic use having harmful effects especially on a developing teen brain. i was a heavy chronic user as a teen and I have no idea if it effected my brain development. There is conflicting info on it. They are mainly talking about heavy chronic use. There are some brain images going around that people who are against it post on face book and such. The jury is still out from a scientific point of view I think. If I thought it would help me I would smoke it and not worry about it. Maybe there is more risk with the AD's I am taking. I've been reading some studies that say marijuana is not that great for people who have heart conditions. For an hour or two after using it, the people's heart rates increased to "strenuous exercise" levels, so if the person already has a problem with their heart that's not very good.
That being said, it seems to be the THC responsible for that. Some of studies sought to find the exact cause and found that even a small amount of THC had an impact, while the CBD had no impact whatsoever on the heart rate. Here's one of those studies: Acute effects of a single, oral dose of d9-te... [Curr Pharm Des. 2012] - PubMed - NCBI Since I have congenital heart disease that's yet another reason for me to stay away from the THC strains, and to try to find a legal route to the high CBD ones. |

My only experience with pot is that it made me paranoid. But, then again, I wasn't experiencing anxiety at the time either so I can't comment on its usefulness for that purpose. I hope it will help you if you decide to go that route.

Pot has been great for not only my anxiety, but for my PTSD related psychosis. I don't recommend it for anyone else because mileage may vary. Be very careful folks!

I'm just finding this all really helpful--I'm a recovering addict attempting to use marijuana and my psych meds (only, no other drugs or alcohol) to manage my depression. So far, it definitely stops episodes of uncontrollable crying, but it definitely numbs me out.

I've had my Medical Marijuana card for about a month. I find using CBD with low THC helps my anxiety. Here in Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana is legal, with a doctors approval.

I smoke on a daily basis for multiple reasons, but one of the biggest ways it helps me is to forget traumatic incidents that have happened in my past. I feel like it helps me to come to terms with these subjects and move on with my life and focus on the future. It helps me to see the good in depressing situations and helps me to stay calm and composed in times of stress. And it also gave me a medical rec Medical Marijuana Card in San Francisco (CA) – Online Guide 2018 in Cali. I find it depends on the strain, an indica strain such as a kush or cheese helps with my anxiety and allows me to easily relax however a sativa strain will make me 10x worse. You just gotta make sure you have the right strain for you!!! I find out by going to Leafly and checking the negative side affects of whatever strain I'm smoking.
