I'm looking for ideas for suggestions for a healthier diet that would help me manage my bipolar disorder. I'm still taking meds but what are good things to eat, and drink, etc. that would at least help somewhat? What would you suggest to be avoided?

That's a huge subject. I'm convinced a lot of it is individual but there are a few places to start.
I have shared this link with a lot of people: http://nourishedkitchen.com/nutritio...-chronic-pain/ Weston price is the diet she likes and I agree. There is nothing harmful about like fad diets. It de emphasizes carbs and emphasizes veggies but does not eliminate meat. You could also check out beyondmeds.com. She is a big believer that many MI patients have gut issues before and after. Weston price is a good diet for that. If you are up for the challenge lifespa.com does a twice a year global cleanse. It is coming up in a couple weeks. I did it once and it had a very big impact. It is not a dangerous cleanse but it is not easy and it is rather expensive. The website has other information too. Some specifics... Eliminate or reduce refined sugar and caffeine. Sodas are particularly bad. Lower carb intake from things like bread. You can replace it with legumes and there are tons to try. Healthy fats are fine. I think a no fat diet is not very healthy at all. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Odwalla green goo. I don't think it is called green goo but it has an ugly green color but it actually tastes real good. If you are not good about eating raw veggies a half gallon of this stuff will give your 8 servings. All kinds of good stuff in it.
It you can't get Owalla there is another brand called boat house, there is another one too but I forget the name.

Owalla was started in Stockton CA right next door to where I worked. Very successful and then sold out to pepsi I think it was. Greed over their mission statement and principle.

Any, good, balanced diet (like the DASH diet) is always helpful; lots of fresh food, 5+ fruits and vegetables a day, 25+ grams of fiber, enough protein (protein with every meal/snack) not so much "junk"/processed food, etc. Getting a couple bottles of water a day and staying well hydrated is good for one too.

Oh yeah, Odwala Super Food it was called. For a guy like me who no way am I gonna shove a bunch of raw vegetables down my face every day it is a good solution, I think. The wheat grass gets me wired. Go to Jamba Juice and get a couple of shots of wheat grass and you will get wired. I love the Odwala products.

I don't think it's necessary to go on a specific diet as long as you're eating more healthily.
