Has anyone tried seeing homeopath for their condition? I deal with both mental illness and chronic complex migraines with aura, along with a slew of other things. Has anyone tried the homeopathy route? If so, how has/is it worked/working for you? I'm considering it in conjunction with my traditional medicine treatments, in hopes to lessen the dependence on so many synthetic chemicals to regulate my conditions.

I will never give up hope!

There is a form of homeopathy is recently learned about called osteopathy, its looking at medicine as a whole, so it includes alternative medicine with modern medicine. Might be worth looking into.

There is no clinical evidence that homeopathy is of any health benefit.

A well-known comparison of 110 clinical trials of homeopathy, matched with 110 clinical trials of evidence-based medicine for the same health conditions, concluded that:

"there was weak evidence for a specific effect of homoeopathic remedies, but strong evidence for specific effects of conventional interventions. This finding is compatible with the notion that the clinical effects of homoeopathy are placebo effects."

Source: Are the clinical effects of homoeopathy ... [Lancet. 2005 Aug 27-Sep 2] - PubMed - NCBI and for a (very technical) version of the paper see http://download.thelancet.com/pdfs/j...n-ECemacnBqMGu

Summary - there is no evidence that homeopathy is effective.

Osteopathy (which emmyk mentioned) is not the same as homeopathy. It is a type of complementary and alternative medicine which primarily consists of moving, stretching and massaging a person’s muscles and joints.

I don't know of any evidence that shows that it is of benefit to people who have mental health issues.

It may help you but (as always) discuss that option with an evidence-based health professional before you try it.
