I don't know about the rest of you but my biggest concern with supplements is quality. I just never know what brand to buy and if any of them really have any quality control checks in place.

So in my search for quality supplements I came across Vital Nutrients: Vital Nutrients - a leader in vitamins and nutrition supplements exceeding industry standards in quality assurance

Now, I have no idea if what they claim is true but it looks like they do quite a bit in the way of quality control to ensure they are selling a good quality product. I found a clinic in Connecticut (link below) that will only use these supplements for that reason and you can buy this stuff from Amazon and other sources not just from a particular clinic. *Note: I am not saying this is evidence that Vital Nutrients offers supplements that are of good quality, I am just saying this is what i can find about them and it seems more promising than most.

I am wondering if any of you have heard of this company, have used the company, or know of any more information on the quality of their supplements?

I was able to find that they received a few warnings from the FDA but those warnings have since been cleared up.

Also if you know of another company that has good quality supplements, please let me know!

My brother and sister in law, both pharmacists, owned their own pharmacy. They were very concerned about which brands to sell in their pharmacy. They wanted to make sure the company did regular quality control testing and so one. They decided on three. One was Nature Made which is pretty available. The other two I can't remember but I will email my brother and ask. My sister in law is an herbologist, pharmacist, master gardener, organic farmer, bio dynamic farmer, etc., etc. She takes it very seriously so I trust her judgment. I will get back to you.

I also asked about fish oil because I have heard controversy about it having to be in some special refrigerated liquid form. Here is what they said.

Quote:
Nature Made is good and the easiest to find. Randal Optimal Nutrients and Phyto Pharmica are the other two companies we carried. They will be more expensive and harder to find. Our old pharmacy doesn't carry them anymore but only because you have to actively recommend them to sell them.
Nature Made fish oil is liquid in a gel cap ( large capsule) and is a fine way to take it. There is an Rx version of fish oil capsules called Lovaza also available generically that's in the same dose form. It's Rx because of the amt of oil per cap and $$$$. A company got a patent did a study and got it fda approved for early risk CAD. It's 1000mg of EPA & DHA,mostly EPA, omega3 fatty acids. Mostly decreases triglycerides, heavier bad fats.
Eating fish a couple times a week is better esp salmon according to the Amer. heart assoc. Hope this helps.

Yeah I am going to stick with Nature Made. It is readily available at a fair price and I totally trust my sister in law when she says she researched something. She is very thorough and ethical.

Yes, I tend to use Nature Made too. There are a lot of reputable firms out there, I guess it depends on what you want/need to take. I just remember that all things for sale are just that, businesses in business to make money. All ads on TV are self-serving to the company placing the ad and are not about Me and what I might want/need. Yes there are some snake oil companies trying to cash in on useless or harmful supplements but otherwise, all "Vitamin C" for example, is the same and reading the list of ingredients on bottles can go a long way. If there is not a full list on the bottle, I don't buy it as I have reactions to many of the binders and fillers and stuff in both medicine and supplements.

How do you know you're having a reaction to the binder instead of the supplement or medicine?
