Having heard good things about it I decided to try medicinal cannabis.
I have several chronic illnesses.Depression, mood swings, social anxiety. I have diabetes 2,so hoping it will bring my blood sugars down, high blood pressure again hope it comes down and high cholesterol too.I have hypothyroidism and sleep apnoea, and irregular heartbeats, again I have heard it can help,as well ,and this it is supposed to aid weight loss too.I need help in all these areas. Especially I have heard it can help with glaucoma and the deterioration of eye sight,I have glaucoma and high pressure in my eyes so hoping the pressure will come down. The medicinal cannabis capsules I ordered came today and so I took my first capsule.Immediately it eased the acid in my stomach. It relaxed me and took my anxiety away.It also stopped muscle ache and tension and pain. It has been 15 hours since I took it I must say I feel good, very relaxed and though it is too early to say I think it will help improve my chronic conditions.I will continue to take one capsule a day as long as I can. The medicinal cannabis capsules I am taking have had the THC taken out of it so it doesn't make you high, there are no psychotropic effects. It is therefore legal to sell and buy/consume it in the UK,so I am not breaking the law buying and using it. I am very interested to hear if it has helped anyone else here with their mental health issues or any physical chronic illnesses. From just trying it today and being in back and shoulder pain,I can vouch for the fact it is taking away the pain very well. My doctor has offered to script me a license but I don't have the first clue about how to use it.

Several years back, I came out of horrible depression ( over 3 years) and I could not eat. It was not medical stuff, but I smoked pot to enhance my appetite. I needed to eat. I am not a user... kind of hate meds of all kinds. But have to say it helped me get healthy.

Hello Rainne,
It costs about $58 for two months supply if I convert GBP to dollars. You don't get the high, but you do get a bit of a head buzz without the high. It has stopped my pains and made me feel really good.My Blood pressure has come down too and I am starting to lose weight ever so slightly, everything going in the right direction. |

i'm bp2, have crohns/colitis and that is what allows me to buy mj legally in az. i have candies but especially like the small e-cig and buy the liquid to smoke to chill me out. this mj is very different than what i smoked illegally 35 years ago. my friend, who has als, smokes, eats the candies, and buys the liquid with eye dropper and takes that which also doesn't have the thc but the other properties. there are many legal, different kinds of mj today and going into the pharmacy is like going into a grocery store where you pick and choose.

I too live in AZ and can get a MMJ card. In fact I've had one before but it expired.
I tried the high CBD tinctures and strains but didn't get pain relief like oxycodone I was prescribed. I ended up using it more for my bipolar symptoms and medication side effects...it was good. I did tended to go for more indica strains with high THC because it worked. I think the plant as a whole works better than just the THC or CBDs. The fact that you can take capsules and don't get the high is great. I would do that if I thought it would work better than the Rx stuff my doc gives me. It certainly has less side effects...and of course it's natural. |

I am feeling good, depression not so bad though had a recent trauma set me back a bit.
But I am taking the capsules one a day,I am losing weight, admittedly have been dieting. My excess stomach acid which caused GERD acid reflux and regular coughs has gone,my heart palpitations and irregular heartbeats at night gone,my angina, gone,my blood sugars much improved.I am coming to the end of my two months supply but won't dream of ending the treatment,my muscle aches and joint pains gone as is my shoulder and back pain. All down to the medical cannabis.I heard also it is acting as a preventative to many types of cancer.Would highly recommend it.Gonna buy another two months supply next week. |

The state I live in, just legalized medical MJ. I haven't heard of any dispensaries opening yet, but I'm hoping they do soon.
I suffer from severe panic attacks and have been prescribed oxy for when they are overwhelming. |

Where I live, it's not legal...yet.
That being said, I have tried it in a neighboring state and I have to say, if they don't make it legal soon, I'm leaving to go where it is legal. Not to mention, OK is not ok when it comes to mental health care. Twice, I've tried to check myself into a psych hospital and was turned away. If we're not last in the nation when it comes to mental health care, we're darn close to the bottom of the barrel. I have CPTSD (anxiety, severe depressive episodes, suicidal ideation), bipolar II and ADHD - just call me alphabet soup...it's the ONLY thing that helps with ALL of my diagnoses. I will always take prescription anti-depressants and anti-psychotics as well as go to a therapist and psychiatrist, but that doesn't mean I don't need more help than traditional methods can offer. I live in California so medical use has been legal for a while now. I don't eat it because I prefer a quicker response time. Instead, I choose to vaporize it. I don't think it's for everyone (my old roommate tried it and was sent into a rather severe state of depression) but it helps me a lot with my anxiety and depression. If I have too much, I feel euphoric for a bit and then a sense of depression but it's never too severe. So my advice to anyone curious about medical cannabis is to start small and build up as necessary. I have a friend who is an ex-heroin addict so he won't smoke, vaporize, or eat marijuana but he takes CBD oil for his social anxiety. CBD oil has really low amounts of THC (the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana) so he doesn't experience a "high" really. I think a lot of people suffering from depression and anxiety (that feel marijuana is a bit too severe) would really benefit from cbd oil.

*This is somewhat within topic so I decided not to make a new thread for this one but I can if this is considered too much of a divergence from the subject.
For those of you who do use medical cannabis for relief, I was reading about how vaping is the healthiest method of ingestion and I'm trying to make the switch to a vaporizer but it seems really complicated. I just read this article about atomizers and understood about 25% of it. Would any of these constitute as a medical grade cannabis vaporizer? I don't really want to mess around with anything too cheap because I don't want to lose the medicinal qualities (a big reason why I'm deciding smoking just isn't worth it). |

Vaping still brings a hit substance into your lungs and can still cause lung cancer.
It can be taken in so many ways; edible, "oil" that can be put on food, in the mouth, or rubbed into the skin (that doesn't go into the blood stream), a salve... Smoking/vaping wouldn't be my first choice. I had tried some, it is legal here. It has helped with the pain, but not with depression or moods. I have found it to cause rebound anxiety for me and also rebound pain. So I only use it as a last ditch effort. For me, I have found it to re-create a PTSD flashback. I also am extremely intolerant so ODs are far too easy for me and terribly upsetting. __________________ Credits: ChildlikeEmpress and Pseudonym for this lovely image. alt="Universal Life Church | ULC" border="0"> |

I have read that the safest way to consume cannabis is through ingesting edibles. They are much stronger then just smoking it so you will have to find some safe.

I have tried a dispensery yesterday , the first time.
I have severe back, foot pain and restless leg syndrome(rls) too. I purchased the oil tincture separately. I had 3:1 THC CBD around 3 pm and by 4pmI was on and off on buzz-land .lasting all night slowly waning away. It is very useful for pain management, anxiety and insomnia. It did not throw me into a manic phase because I was already there but it helped easing the symptoms. I am not planning to use the THC often, but there was a 2 for one deal. The cbd oil is very useful at all times. __________________ Cyclothiamia - on Depakote with occasional Thorazine for severe insomnia. |

I too purchased CBD oil yesterday for the first time. Am seeing improvement with my "busy mind" sources of anxiety. My upper back muscle tension/nerve pain showing improvement as well.
So pleased, both medical and recreational are legal in California, but the maze of regulations affecting availability, as well as product description and uniformity need to "mature" drastically. |

Vaping is not good for you as the process of creating the vape is adding all sorts of stuff to what you are inhaling.
Marijuana Vaping Health Concerns The best method is CBD and THC (1:3) tincture under the tongue. Also available CBN as sedative, Quote:
