I had a TMS evaluation a couple of months ago and was approved but at that time I was "only" diagnosed with MDD, dysthymia, ADHD, PTSD, and GAD. Now my therapist has diagnosed me with DPD and AvPD traits. When I did a consult for ECT the doctors thought I had some sort of PD so they wouldn't approve me despite depression being my main problem and being on over 20 meds (more than the years I've been living). It would be a huge blow to not be able to have this treatment (TMS) as it's covered by my insurance, miraculously, and nothing else has worked (including the new class of meds). I'm so sick of the trial and error method that has been all for not. Any insight on the would be greatly appreciated! I'm desperate.

It was offered for me with a diagnosis of treatment resistant depression and mixed PD. my diagnosis of DID made it not a good choice for me.
Thanks for this!

I appreciate your response. I'm sorry you're diagnosis of DID didn't allow you to get it. I hope you find something that works!

Actually, brain spotting is working for me. Depression mostly gone. PD getting better as is DID. It took about 6 mo the to start feeling a difference. But after 6 years of being depressed, it is truly amazing.

In case anyone was wondering or interested and comes across this, I talked to the nurse who helps the doctor with TMS in my area. She said I definitely still qualify for treatment. If anything it may help me be able to get to other therapies for my PD once my depression is lessened.
