It's worth a try if you are not on any prescribed med. You are not supposed to mix them. Give it at least a couple months trial before making judgement. It supposedly does the same things some ADs do. I hope it works for you!

I tried it before I finally went on an antidepressant. It didn't help much. I think it can be good for milder depression, though.

Honestly I had success with OMEGA-3 EPA 1800mg (minimum per day) I used the OMEGA 3 that also has the DHA in it but according to the pdoc I had in Calif who was also into alterior treatments for those of us who had horrible side effects to Psych meds. I tried it in liquid form in OJ & was amazed at the difference. The DHA helped with my memory too but the EPA in the high dose helped the depression & anxiety levels too. It wasn't like NONE because my issues were totally situational & nothing could change the foundational situation but it helped me feel better

It seemed to help with my dysthymia, but did little when a bout of more severe depression kicked in.

I've heard it can trigger a manic episode in people with schizoaffective disorder or bipolar disorder which is why I stopped taking it. (I'm schizoaffective, bipolar type). Therefore, I stopped taking it.

Just be aware of that.
