I'm willing to try anything from herbal remedies to certain exercises, I'm all ears! So please if anyone has suggestions and also please let me know if your an anxiety sufferer as well and what has worked/not worked for you. Thanks guys!

I have really bad anxiety, and while I do take meds for it, sometimes that's not enough.

This breathing exercise, that I learned one time, when I was in a psych hospital, really helps me, especially at night when I'm trying to fall asleep.

Breathe in deeply to a count of 4. Hold it for a count of 4. Exhale to a count of 6. Hold it for a count of 4. Repeat 25 times.

Hope this helps.

Thank you both for your suggestions i will definitely try these and let you guys know how it went! I've never heard of the look for 5 things you can see 4 touch 3 hear etc. and i actually really like the thought of it, plus it being something new to try as really everything else hasn't been successful so thanks! And this breathing technique is a new one to me as well, i just wanted to ask you Splitimage, is it ever difficult to inhale and hold for, i know 4seconds isn't a long time, but a LONG time when you cant catch you breath lol so maybe you can tell me how you get to the point of comfortability during an attack to do this please! Thanks again for the support guys

It's a bit uncomfortable at first, but if you practice the breathing exercise, when you're not having an anxiety attack, you kind of get used to it. Plus believe it or not the counting is a good mental distraction. You need to count the beats for each state of the breath, as well as count to 25 repeats, which is harder than it sounds. I think that's why it works for well for me. The deep slow breathing calms me physically and the counting distracts my mind.
