I’m looking into two alternative options for treatment. I’ve already done the classical route of therapy and meds for a while unsuccessfully. So my two questions are this:

-for those who have done tms: what were the good, the bad, and how long did the benefits last?

-for those who did ketamine: what are the ways to access it? Clinics in my country don’t accept my age group, but possibly there’s another way to get it? (Off label prescription perhaps?)

I looked into ketamine myself. I have been very interested in it for a few years now, but I live in an area where there are no practitioners doing ketamine.
There are alternatives being researched for depression, anxiety etc that look promising.
Are you an adult? I wasn't sure what you meant by your "age group".

If you are an adult, look into the research being done on magic mushrooms. They look as promising as ketamine. You do what is called microdosing every 3 days, and within two weeks or so, your neurons will be changed to give you relief from depression, anxiety, ocd and possibly some other mental issues.
As you are in Canada, you can purchase it online if you are an adult. I purchased mine from a site in Vancouver and started with Golden Teachers which gave me a magnificent inner meditative journey. Other mushrooms are better for socializing, laughing etc, but still give you the same benefits as far as I can tell. I wanted to use the same magic mushroom as used in the study, but couldn't find it named anywhere, but I have a feeling any will work, as it is the active ingredient "psilocybin" that is important.

The results of a study might be interesting reading on webmd. Simply search "magic mushrooms depression". The results can be as profound as antidepressants with a much faster onset, and none of the side effects of antidepressants.

IF YOU ARE NOT AN ADULT, WAIT A FEW YEARS FOR YOUR BRAIN TO FINISH GROWING BEFORE DOING THESE ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS.

I live in the USA and magic mushrooms are not legal in the state where I live, but I'm interested in this. I want to try Ketamine infusions (legally).

TMS did not work for me. I never had any changes. However, I know someone at the clinic that I talked to who had success. Ketamine, I'm looking into. I'm interested in hearing about this. Thank you for posting this.

TMS did nothing for me, and the people I know, but some people online said they've benefited from it. I am looking into Ketamine now ...has anyone tried it?

I know this is an older thread, but just wanted to add something.

TMS and ketamine treatment have both been suggested to me by various psychiatrists, so I have researched some, into both treatments.

When I looked into ketamine treatment, I found it was too costly for me to afford.....But, I think if you can afford it, it's certainly worth a try.....As for how effective ketamine treatment is, I read that in some early studies, about 50-70% people experienced significant improvement in depression symptoms........However, research is still ongoing as to how safe and effective ketamine would be over the long term.

When looking into TMS treatment, I found it was also too expensive for me........I did find some statistics on TMS, as to how effective it is......According to what I read, about 50-60% of people experience at least some improvement.......And also, in the people who did experience improvement, about 1/3 of them experienced significant improvement.......TMS is worth a try also, in my opinion.
