Has anyone else ever owned a Guinea Pig? I used to have one years ago named Gumdrop, he was a really cute thing. Most of his very short life I was too scared to really pick him up, so my dad took care of him. (That's why after he died years ago we havn't gotten another pet since) towards the end of his life, I took care of him. I wasn't a very good pet owner I guess, we spoiled him and he grew to be very fat and he was probably sick too because he died when he was two years old and they usually live to be at least four I'm just bringing this up because I want another one at the moment, or something else that's small and soft and cuddly to hold and have squeak and sniffle around while you pet it, I know Gumdrop used to like to hang out on your shoulder like a parrot and he's tast test your ears and hair

Guinea Pigs

This isn't a picture of him, just a picture of a Guinea Pig if you've never seen one before.

I have 2 guinea pigs. They are very easy to take care of. I have had both since they were 6 weeks old. They enjoy a bath in a sink about once a month. Both love timothy hay, green leaf lettuce, and carrots. I also take them to the vet once a month for a nail-clipping.

Please PM me with any questions you have!!

I had a teddy bear hamster once when I was younger. It was the long haired choc brown n white type. I didn't have it for long though because someone covered the cage one night with a blanket (to stop the noise coming from the wheel while it was running) bad idea.. only to take the blanket off the next day.

well.. it didn't make it.

Trust me, I'd love a rodent like a rat or hamster...but my dad thinks they are disgusting (I think they are adorable!) and my mom has cats and she thinks that they'd love a rat ...as a snack.

I love my cats, but they aren't the same...not bad...just not the same.

I have 3 guinea pigs and love them so much! I have pictures on my blog if you want to see. I would read up on them as much as you can because things have changed a lot in what they need, then say 20yrs. ago.

It is recommended that you get 2 (of the same sex). Their main food source is timothy hay and they should get fresh veggies every day.

All 3 of my pigs have different personalities. One gives me kisses, one likes to snuggle with my cat or will take a nap with me, and another one like to move around a lot when being held. They are such social animals!

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask...
