My new dog Gus is just too sweet. We were playing tug-of-war with his big rope toy, and it has those huge knots on the ends, well, Gus shook the rope, and one of the knots hit me right in the eye. I went "OUCH" and covered my eye, and Gus immediately dropped the rope and just stood really close in front of me, looking at me like "are you okay?", and when I moved my hand he licked my eye.

I have truly hit the jackpot with this dog. After only a couple of weeks I'm already madly in love with him. He is so incredibly well behaved, I can take him everywhere. Everywhere dogs are allowed that is. He's simply awesome!!

For the first time you can open your eyes
And see the world without your sorrow
Where no one knows the pain you left behind
And all the peace you could never find
Is waiting there to hold and keep you
Welcome to the first day of your life

Just open up your eyes as I lay you down tonight
Safe on the other side
No more tears to cry
Thanks for this!

Wonderful story and sorry you got hit in the eye. So happy you've bonded with Gus. As most people know we have a dog named Bella and we marvel at her everyday. There's no doubt in the mind they know our feelings and they have feelings too. I hope you have many more years of fun time ahead.
