I had to something hard today, I had to put Tyger to sleep today.

He was under my car and I backed over him. That is not what made the ultimate decision he was fine from that. He had kidney disease. One kidney was larger than the other and the vet said that he had some kind of illness. So I made the decision that rather than him continue on being sick to go ahead and put him down.

I am doing okay. I was able to get in to see my therapist late this afternoon. I had called her to tell her I wouldn't be there for my normal session and then called later to see if I could get in late and she made room. I am so blessed to have her. She said she was going to call me tonight if I didn't call to come in.

So RIP Tyger.

Jan

This is one of the toughest decisions to make when owned by a pet. We have to advocate for them, we are their voice and it's our responsibility to make these responsible decisions.

I'm soo sorry for your loss Jan. ((( hugs )))

I honestly don't know why but losing pets upsets me worse than any other grief I've ever experienced.

I'm really sorry for your loss. I've had to have two very elderly pugs put to sleep in less than three years after they each totally ran out of anymore options to manage chronic health problems. I know I did the right thing but it still absolutely breaks my heart.

They say letting our companion pets go when all hope is gone is the ultimate reward we can give them - that's no doubt true but it's hard to say goodbye.

I'm sorry for your loss... It must have been really hard, and losing a beloved pet is always just so draining and depressing. RIP Tyger and hugs to you.

I am slowly healing. I am still a little nauseous but the fever has broken.

Every time I walk into my bedroom and look to my bed I have expect to see him there because that was his favorite place to lay.

I am getting better though so thanks for all the kind words and prayers.

Jan

(((Jan))) I know what you mean, it's been a couple weeks and I still see my Dom everywhere. I hear him barking in the back yard sometimes. It's an awful emptiness.

My spouse ran over our dog.... we had been on vacation and returned, picked up the dog and then left the house to go get groceries. The dog, I guess fearing we were leaving for too long again, broke out of the house and ran in front of the car. The streets were covered with ice and... well... it was sickening... oh!

I feel so for you... It was an accident. It happens. I'm so sorry.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. This are getting better as time goes on. I am still sleeping a lot bust at leas most of the nausea is gone. I have actually eaten a few times today and it stayed down which is a good thing because in my session with S on Thursday she said I need to gain weight not lost it.

I have some pictures on my camera of him that I will eventually develop and scrapbook them as a memorial.

I found out my dad was not able to bury him next to Chessie (my mom's cat) because the ground was like concrete so he ended up taking him for a walk in the woods. I think it is best I don't know where he is just in case the critters have gotten to him.

You did the right thing for him and had his comfort as top priority, that's all our pets can ask for when we make health decisions for them.

RIP.

I am beginning to heal. I keep catching myself trying to see what he is up to and such.

Thursday night was hard we had a wicked t-storm and I thought I'll go potty then grab Tyger and we can be scared together. Then it hit me no Tyger.

I know it will take time but he was my rock and I feel like part of me died when we put him in the box.
