my old cat used to visit with all the new tenants of my complex when they moved in & tell them a story about how starving he was...they would feed him every time he came around. he would sit by their windows & tap the screen.

eventually we would meet & they would tell me about this tan cat who just seemed to be starving & maybe they should try to adopt him...i would laugh & say..no don't bother..he has a home..it's mine & you are new neighbor #15 who he has conned. he was very friendly but also very smart.

i miss him...very social cat...raised in a home with big dogs so in his mind he was just a large dog. if you asked him to say "woof" he would meow.
Thanks for this!

Omigosh, your semi-adopted kitty looks strikingly like one of my girls, but imagine it with a smushed-in Persian face.

Cats are funny critters...they know what they want and who they want to be with, and they accept no less. I sometimes think I should pay more attention to the wisdom they "share".
