My cat Mr. Biggles passed away last night of old age. He was 15, and I knew that he was getting frail, last night my parents were talking about how old he was getting and I had wondered that night about his death, but I pushed it away as we laughed at him begging for food like a dog. He was so alive and happy last night, he was doing just fine. I had walked into the garage and had wondered where the cat went, but something had told me not to look for him. My parents had found him a little while later curled under a desk or something and buried him in the backyard. I cried of course when they told me and we went for a long walk at Spring Lake where I blasted German rock music.

I'm doing rather well, despite he was my favorite and only cat. It seems so strange that he is gone, and that he had gone so peacefully. My dog Sarge had to be put down because he was in so much pain, and I knew that he was going to leave. This was unexpected because he seemed just fine last night. At least now they are both reunited in heaven...

I'm going to post the Rainbow Bridge poem because it's my favorite, but it makes me cry so bad... This is my cat and dog who are both in heaven right now.

Death is strange, peaceful

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

((Dr. Skipper)) -very sorry to hear your dear Mr. Biggles passed away. Its very hard losing a pet family member, especially when they've been around so long. I know that feeling because when I was 3 ...we got this black Persian cat and he lived until I was 21. He died at home too. My cat was fine till the end too....just a little senile lol. I'm also sorry you lost your dog - they looked like good pals. It will take time and I know the pain and grief is so real. Sorry again.

I'll tell you a funny story about my senile cat, so you won't be so sad. One night when I was sleeping, I started to feel the bed move a little. I had just seen the Exorcist movie the night before, so I thought the devil was in my room lol. I turn on the light and my cat as stuck in between the bed and the wall.

I am so sorry for your loss.
My 13 year old cat looks just like yours, grey with the white front paws.

I wish I had something actually helpful to say. (((hugs)))

Welcome to the first day of your life

Just open up your eyes as I lay you down tonight
Safe on the other side
