but we torture them anyway. Here are some pics of ChowChow (a pit/shar pei/chow/akita mix) being forced to enjoy some swim time. She finally relaxed a bit more when I stuck her on the frog floaty, so I guess sometimes dogs need frogs to help them stay afloat. We had our silky terror out in the pool also, but only took video of him in the water... The lab was in a few days ago, and my mom's dog is still due for a swimming session... ALL of them hate water, though the lab will oblige us and do at least one lap around the pool before trying to head to the stairs.
So, to help you smile today, here are pics of Chow. (she kinda looks like a polar bear with the black skin under her white fur... only she can't swim as well as the bear can, lol!) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Alex gets brave and will venture back close to the pool as long as we are not anywhere near it... here he is staring down his nemesis: the boogie board (we like to place him on it and pull him around the pool) ![]() |

Al, my yellow Lab, forgot to read the page in the Lab instruction book about them being water dogs. He hates the water. I once took him to a dog friendlky beach to go swimming. He was convinced I was trying to drowned him!
On the other hand my Rottie absolutely loves the water. We have a sawed off water barrel we call his swimming pool because he loves to get in and sit in the water. One of these days I'm going to try the dog beach with him. |

Awe, that must be cute. We don't have any dog-friendly anything around here. I think my lab wouldn't mind going in if she could wade in slowly... you should post pics of your rotti in the barrel. we could make this a "dogs in water" thread
