Dang dog.....I just get his teeth problem settled & to the vet last Friday for his final check & ok &............

I was hungry for a little chocolate on Sunday evening so I usually just get a package of chocolate chips down from the cupboard & eat a couple then put the bag way away from where any of the dogs (that being Leo) can get it. He's gotten into it before so I know that I have to put it way up & away on the boxes next to my bed........

I got busy doing things around the house then came into the computer room.....next thing I smell chocolate......puddles of yucky chocolate all over my bedroom, upstairs hall, & my computer room.....I go searching & sure enough....everything was knocked down between my bed & where I had hidden the chocolate chips.

Don't know how it manages to know that or smell that out over other things like his dog food that's good for him...........

Looked at the bag & almost 1/2 was gone because I had only eaten a few out of it. I checked on the internet & semi sweet chocolate isn't the worst, but it's not ok like milk chocolate either. He kept going for water & then throwing up more.....& started the shaking thing (not convulsions just the shiver sort of thing). I got out my stethoscope & his heart beat was about double Tawny's ....so I decided to call the vet.....as if he hasn't been there enough lately....& I took him in for the charcoal (just like when people OD)

He got to the door of the vet & put on his breaks....but he got dragged in anyway.....& spent the whole afternoon there being cared for while I went to my psychologist's & my DBT group.

Picked him up on my way home......& they had cleaned him off because now it was the charcoal that was coming out....& needless to say, on his pure white coat, black charcoal is very obvious.

Before I could get him corraled into the upstairs hall, he managed to drink water & now I have charcoal spots all over my carpet next to the chocolate ones from the morning....& of course, I managed to find the one charcoal poop in the dark hallway this morning so those tracks are on my carpet also.

Geeze, I wish he's stuck with just nice sharp cheddar cheese....this dog who will eat anything.......& wouldn't eat the 4 cheese italian cheese with his meds......sometimes I get so annoyed at Leo....but I love that Dog so much....he is definitely like NONE OTHER & that's putting in mildly. He's special inspite of the irritating things he does.

Oh Eskie, I hear you! Al, my Lab, is the man in my life. He is old age he is losing control of his bowels. Poop just sort of plops out of him wherever he is. When I'm scrapping runny poop off the floor and mopping before I leave for work in the morning it can be difficult to remember why I love him.

Dogs have super powers when it comes to smell. Glad you got him straight to the vet. I wonder if there is any smell that dogs don't like so you could mask the smell of the chocolate?

LOL......he doesn't like 4 cheese Italian cheese.....he refused to take his meds mixed with that cheese & would only eat it mixed with sharp cheddar.....then he goes & does that with chocolate.

Funny, the other day when I was working down stairs in the kitchen, I came back up & the whole area next to my bed was torn apart again.....he was looking for those chocolate chips....or any food he could find there. Wonder if the package of 4 cheese Italian cheese was there if he would go ahead & eat it even though he wouldn't mixed with his meds.

Leo is definitely a one of a kind dog......his mind never stops working.....of all my eskie dogs.....he's definitely my ADHD one.....& when he gets mad at me for not being there is when he gets into all of his trouble.

Strange that he has such separation anxiety since I have had him since birth.....& know he's never been abused or abandoned. He has separation anxiety when I'm the one that leaves him......but when he wants to go off exploring or chasing cows......separation anxiety is the farthest thing from his mind.....which is why he gets to stay on a 20ft tie out when he goes outside.....but he will continuously bark & drive me crazy.....even when I continually ignore it.

Leo is definitetly a ONE OF A KIND dog....& has been since birth....glad no one wanted him that Christmas.....don't think anyone else could have tolerated his personality......but I LOVE HIM.

Maybe Leo had been reading Harry Potter and thought the chocolate was medicine!
