I have a dog right now, and no other pets but have had my share of interesting pets over the years. Most recently I had a hedgehog that passed away about 3 years ago. My sister had a sugar glider about 5 years ago. She also owns a horse and a parrot. We've had a ferret as a family pet who I really miss...he's been gone about 10 years. But other than those I've never had really truly weird or unusual pets. Like I would love to have a chameleon or a raven. I don't know how legal that is but I love ravens, crows, and other black birds. I feel like they bring me good luck and even though I'm far from being a bird person, I think they're really cool and aren't your typical bird to own.
What about you guys? |

I have heard that you can teach a raven to talk, but is this just nonsense? My little son used to bring home all kinds of creatures: a small, rainbow colored desert lizard, a strange, brown, horned toad that would hiss, even a couple live fish, all of which we returned to where they were. How interesting you are, I'm anxious to hear about the raven.

I am not allowed to have any pets where I live. But I would like to express a desire of mine that I hope someday to bring about. I have never ridden a horse. Someday, when my fiances are better, I would LOVE to take horseback riding lessons. Sigh.

I have a tank of crabs -- they are amusing, I just set it up about 2 weeks ago. I have a few fish tanks, diamond doves, and a dog.
I think if I were to get a truly exotic pet, I would like to have a falcon and get into falconry. But it's hard to do and expensive. |

I seriously do not believe in having wild/ exotic animals for alot of reasons but if I was rich (so could keep them and start a sanctuary)and had the land to build fabulous homes/enclosures Id love a racoon, a fox and a domestic fox. They would all have to be rescued animals as no way should money exchange hands or breeders be paid! tssshhh. I love these animals. They are cute and super smart. I also love snow leopards but thats going to far, best left in the hands of the experts.

I'd like a Siberian tiger, but I know it's foolish to keep such an animal in captivity. It's unfortunate that it's necessary because of widespread poaching. I'd prefer to see big cats in the wild and nowhere else.

My mother had a pet skunk when she was a kid. I had a ferret and my brother had a slew of rats (they make really good pets, I'd recommend them instead of hamsters or gerbils). I think having a turtle would be cool.

Can't say they are pets, but I feed an opossum and a very large raccoon.

I once had a Neon Blue Day Gecko from a tiny island off Madagascar. He was adorable and really bright blue, unlike most geckos. He was a bit hard to care for because besides the live small crickets he needed lots of moisture and heat and UV so I had to monitor his tank constantly.
In the future I want a Bengal cat. They are bred with wild cats and domestic cats. They love water and even play in the bathtub. Plus they are really smart and beautiful.

We had a few growing up. I got "bit" by one on the palm of my hand. My mom called a neighbor to help as it would not let go no matter what we did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gizzard the Lizard isn't very exotic, but she's a bearded dragon. And gosh darn it, when her fire breath comes in, we're all going to suffer for the injustices we've caused her. (Silly lizard).
Bob the Beta fish isn't very exotic either. Personally, I would like a chinchilla, they're pretty cool, but too darn expensive for me. |

I've always wanted a Savannah cat, so if I was ever rich, that is what I would spend my money on.

I have 2 aquatic turtles and plan to set up a Beta sorority eventually. Looking at other posts - hermit crabs sound awesome.
I'd love to get a flying squirrel but right now it wouldn't be the best investment. A tiger cub would be awesome to have while it was small, before going to like a zoo or something. Ooh and maybe a lamb.

We have three hermit crabs. Such cool little pets, but definitely tricky to care for properly. And they can live for decades, so if I have things down right they'll be with me for a long, long time!

I knew a guy who had this bird farm and he had an actual raven there. His name was Mo. The raven, not the guy. He would eat roadkill. The raven, not the guy. Lol. Apparently the guy was sent Mo when he had a broken wing and he took care of him until he was healed but when they re-released him into the wild Mo wouldn't leave the guy. So he took him back home to live. He was huge and he had a very long viscous looking beak. |

I've always wanted to get a prairie dog. They are sooo cute! Apparently, you actually can get them in the US. You probably need a special permit for them. I'm not sure if they do well in a person's home . The only ones I've seen were in a zoo
