Hello.
I am trying to figure out a good brand of mat to go in front of my kitty litter boxes to keep the kitty litter from tracking everywhere. For all that this type is supposed to limit tracking, it always seems to get everywhere. I have tried a couple different brands, but none really work. So I was hoping someone had a good recomendation for mats to keep the kitty litter (clumping) from tracking everywhere.
Thanks.

I use little rugs that you can get at Menard's for about a buck. They're made from leftover carpet and are very nice.
Thanks for this!

I don't think anything is perfect. I have really large mats from the pet store, have tried a couple different kinds but the litter still gets tracked. When it gets too nasty for my bare feet I use my little Hoover stick/cordless vacuum and do the upstairs and the first stair or two down (it gets tracked down the stairs too which can drive me crazy in my bare feet -- I only have a cleaning lady every couple weeks and that's when the stairs get done). If I can track it in my bare feet, I am sure the cat's fur, etc. holds on to it a bit longer? I "wipe" my feet as I'm leaving their room (the front bedroom of our 2 bedroom townhouse -- it's now dedicated to the cats only -- that closet is the only place the litter boxes would fit) and sometimes I have a heck of a time getting rid of it off my feet for several steps into the hall and, technically, I don't have anything that should be holding it there? I have special towels down where they lay to keep the furniture from getting it all over (as well as their shedding fur, etc.) but it often does.

I've never been able to keep my cats from tracking litter. They track it over at least ten feet of carpeting. I don't think there is anything that will help.
Thanks for this!

I gave up trying to find something to prevent tracking. Nothing seemed to work. I keep one of those small brooms and dustpans in the bathroom and sweep up the litter once or twice a day,

Maybe this tip may help. Make sure that your litter box is one and a half times the length of an adult cat. (Not the standard length which is too small). Also check the depth of the box. Deep is good.

My sister bought me a Hartz litter mat (making a hint, lol, that she didn't care for litter crumbs on the sofa lol). Solved 90% of the litter tracking problem. I'm very grateful for it.

Hi Everyone. thank you. I was really hoping that someone would say: I have this wonderful product that takes care of all the cat litter. I guess I will just have to keep working at it and cleaning up after them. But this is better than me just keeping buying new mats and trying them all.

I have found that berber carpet seems to attract the litter. One of my neighbors installs carpet and gives me remnants that he can't use. I also keep a small shop vac handy and vacuum their area about every two days. With 7 cats it doesn't take them long to trash the place.
Thanks for this!
