One of my turtles died today. I should have known something was wrong because she was basking a lot lately, but she's always been a good basker so this wasn't unusual. I check on them every day and tonight when it was feeding time I found her floating. I knew immediately something was wrong. So I looked closer and saw a slight film over her eyes and went to move it out of her face (in case she was sleeping) and that's when I realize she passed.

She was a good turtle. She was sweet, gentle and friendly. She didn't mind being held every now and then was an avid swimmer, eater and basker. Her only fault, which was also a strength, was that she never had much of a survival instinct and wasn't afraid of anything. Tomorrow I will bury her in the back yard. It just sucks that it happened the day after my birthday.

Thanks guys for your sweet words. I put her in a box and decorated it with a little cross and buried her in the back yard. I kind of miss her and our special bond but of course I'll be okay. Just one of those things that happen.
