My dog died.
I could use a virtual hug if there are any extra going around.

Thank you all.

Thank you everyone.

She was my Great Pyrenees (I posted a photo here once...) We got her from the shelter.

We loved her so so much.

She was fine (besides the aches and pains that come with age) and we had let her out in the early evening. The weather has been horrible here, so when it's decent she was always wanting to be out there. We went to fetch her in at bed time and she barely made it. We put her on a makeshift stretcher and took her to the emergency vet, about a 2 mile drive, but she didn't make it. The vet said, from a cursory exam, that it was most likely an aneurysm.

Today, there is a thunderstorm here and she was afraid of thunder. It's not going well for me at all.
