My geriatric cat passed away 5 weeks ago and I miss her a lot. Today I signed up to volunteer at a no kill shelter that has lots of cats. I'm looking forward to getting to pet a cat again. I have a training session next weekend then I can start volunteering

I'm sorry to hear about your cat.
Yeah I love my cat. I'm really glad to hear that you're getting involved in with a shelter like this. That's awesome - I would totally support that too. Hang in there. |

I volunteered for the first time yesterday at the no kill no cage cat shelte. I helped yo clean a large room that had about 30 cats in it! They were on cat trees, shelves and any where else you could imagine a cat could be. I liked it and plan to volunteer one evening every other week.
I stopped by today just to pet the cats and that a lot of fun Last edited by catnip123; May 24, 2015 at 06:54 PM. Reason: typos |

I used to do that at an animal rescue near me and ended up fostering then adopting a cat. The human contact is so important for the cats when they're in the shelter because they're in a highly stressful atmosphere.
It's fun to try different toys and see when you hit on one that a particular cat really loves. |
