Two years ago a shy kitty wandered into a fire house on a cold day and decided to make it her home.
Now fast forward to today, she's running the station like she owns it and asking everyone for attention and spa time.  The tabby cat strolled into Station 57 Fire Department in New York for a warm place to stay and turned it into her own little kingdom. She was a bit shy when she first interacted with the firemen there, but after a few pets, she was hooked and started to warm up to her human friends. "Alternative homes are a wonderful solution to the problem of homeless kitties," Station 57 told Love Meow. Soon all her worries dissipated and were substituted with purrs and pure bliss.  In exchange for all the pampering, the tabby girl keeps rodents at bay. At times, she brings "gifts" to her humans in the morning after a night of chasing off critters. "They call her Killer because she took care of our mouse problem when she moved in. We were having a contest to get her a nicer name but then she started bringing home rats," Station57 said.

Rosie was rescued from the streets of San Jose when she was only 2 weeks old. The first few nights were extremely rocky… With past experience of fostering and bottle feeding young kittens, her foster parents tried their very best to keep Rosie alive. She struggled to take in food and as the hours passed, she became more lethargic and limp. Just when she seemed like she would not make it, Lilo stepped in.
  Lilo had just been fixed a few days prior and still sported her cone, a shaved belly, and stitched scar from the surgery. Regardless, Lilo coaxed Rosie into the warmth of her fur and allowed her to cuddle for hours. By some miracle, Rosie started trying to suckle on Lilo and cried out for food. Her foster parents were stunned by the effect Lilo had on Rosie and immediately gave Rosie a bottle. She drank every drop and nestled into Lilo’s fur to sleep. When she awoke again, it was as if new life was breathed into this little kitten. Perhaps the heart and soul of a husky.
