A people name got this person in trouble, but I think the issue was overblown. What do you think?

I think it’s weird to name animals with people names, but people do it all the time. Brad needs to get over it. If Brad doesn’t like it he can change his name the dog has his name first.

I like people names for pets. I guess it seems to make them more like a family members. Currently I have a dog named Raven and two cats, Sammy and Caroline. They were all named by other people, since they were all "adopted."

I've had a cat named Donald, etc.

I know a lady who named her cat after her dad. I think that's a bit odd, but anyway....

Trav, was Donald orange? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Since four of my six (Mikey, Abby, Ollie and Sean Patrick) have human names obviously I have no problem with human names for pets.

The human Brad needs to get over himself.

I think the cat Brad is smarter than the human Brad. Human Brad does not seem to understand concepts of time, like "before" and "after" we met. As Bugs Bunny would say, what a maroon!

I personally love people name for pets. I have two rescue kitties Amelia Jayne and Helen Rose and a rescue Beagle Zoey Adele. Not only do they have people names, they also have middle names! And the same last name as me of course!

I don't have a problem with people names for pets, or some food names/drink names

For example: calling a pet Brandy, I don't see that as a problem.

The way I think of it, is if you wouldn't feel embarrassed shouting for a pet outside, with a name, it's fine to use that name.

If you'd find it embarassing shouting a name, thats the time to rename the pet.

Like say for example, if you went outside to shout a lost dog back, you wouldn't want to be walking down the street shouting "Snugglepuss the third" or whatever name you decided to give the dog.

The human boyfriend needs to accept that the dog was there first and is used to the name.

Idea: how about the human Brad renames himself and has to get used to getting called a new name?
Thanks for this!
