When it comes to animals...are you most in awe of the tiniest creature or the largest? Does your heart melt when you see a teeny tiny puppy, or do you go gaga over a gentle giant?
For me, the bigger the dog, the better. I swoon over a gentle giant and would love to one day own a dog that's bigger and taller than me. I am in awe of this photo of a Cane Corso. His owner looks so small compared to this gentle giant: https://posts-cdn.kueez.net/m79vNfLu...ec4xhsdFiD.jpg |

My wife and I started out with Old English Sheepdogs many years ago. But as we got older we had a Cockapoo that weighed about 20 pounds. When she passed away we got a 15 1/2 pound Schnoodle. I used to joke that our next dog would have to be a chihuahua. And, low and behold, it appears that may, in fact, turn out to be the case.

I too prefer the huge breeds. Yappy bitty dogs irritate me.

I was embarrassed to admit it but I'm terrified of small dogs. I've been chased and bit by so many tiny dogs that I'd like a giant dog to protect me from the ankle biters. And no one would want to mess with a huge dog, so a gentle giant would protect me from evil hoomans too.

I've had a range from a long haired Chihuahua to a Rottie, but they all picked me, not me picking them. My preference is for medium sized puppers. I hate little yapping ankle biters. I don't have room in my house for a giant dog.

Anything big enough to give me the advantage in a sticky situation if needed. A 60lb minimum animal seems good. Not sure on the breed. Hard decision there are so many nice ones out there. By the way those Cane Corsos are something else! Very loyal too. I like working dogs but they need a lot of activity so one needs to be prepared to spend a lot of time with those animals.

I've been bitten by a lot of small dogs, but small dogs can be really sweet too so I love all dogs nonetheless. If I had to choose I would say large breeds because in my experience they've always been the fluffiest and most gentle. I love a big dog that I can hug. It always brings instant comfort. I hope to have a large dog one day too.

Currently I have a beagle who is about 28-30 lbs. She is perfect. She can still fit on my lap, and sleep in my bed, but she isn't tiny either. She's strong and stubborn too.

I love all animals and had collies growing up and labs. After I had to pick up my last lab so much I wanted a small dog. I ended up getting two Shih Tzu’s and totally enjoyed having them. They are very sweet adorable dogs and I like that they bark if a stranger comes to my door. I kept my Shitzu’s hair in a puppy cut and they looked like little teddy bears. My two Shih Tzu’s were very sweet. They were bread to be lap dogs.
