I was so glad to see a place for animals I’m a true animal lover so much so I try to rescue every animal I see. My husband jokes about me taking a dog from it’s own home because I think it’s lost. Then he is worried that I will kill myself saving a animal because I will stop in the middle of a street to save an animal from getting hit or hurt. My question is I’m currently trying to introduce a new dog into my home where I already have 3 1 very large boy Zack and two littlest ones Molly and Missy. This new dog is also on the small side and her name is Honey. Now Molly is my baby and Missy is a daddy’s girl all the way and well Zack is just Zack he does not care about anything except food. Now my new dog Honey has a horrible past I’m sad to say I took her from my aunt who recued her from her neighbor who abused her and her babies they actually through two of her babies over a fence to a mean dog that killed them she has also been yelled at kicked and who knows what else my heart really hurts for everything she has been through so I want to give her all kinds of love. Honey is very sweet to my surprise she is the most laid back dog I have ever seen I have had her about a week now and she is learning the ways of her new home the problem is she is not getting along with Molly my baby now to her defense it is Molly being the stubborn one and wants to protect me however, I ‘m not sure what to do will they work it out? I’m scared to leave them together because they fight my husband says it sounds worse then it is they are not trying to hurt each other they are just trying to establish alpha dog status so if anyone has any advice I would love to hear it should I be worried?

You are so sweet broken...

I Love Dogs too,,and have been Graced to have the love of a few of them in my life...They fullfill me...

Your issue with Molly is common..pack dynamics are complex and usually work themselves out with some time...

When your petting Honey make sure you have a hand on Molly while telling her eveything is Ok and if she growls tell her no in a firm voice followed immediately by rubbing her inner ear...

Do this repetiviely for a few days...soon Honey will not be a threat to Molly's status quo...

IMHO.
