My Fozzie Bear chewed up the remote control to my DVD player. He didn't swallow anything, just mangled one end of the remote, and now it doesn't work. I have to place the remotes out of his reach or he gets to them, and I forgot this morning, to find it torn up on my floor.
Question: Can I buy one of those all purpose remotes that would work, or am I just out of luck? I hate to have to go buy another DVD player, and thinking maybe Radio Shack might have something that would work.
Suggestions, please!
Patty

Hi! Sorry about your remote Ummm a universal remote might work, but don't quote me on that. I would suggest you go to best buy or something and ask one of the sales associates...I have universal remote and there is an option for dvd player, but I have not used that feature yet....or see if you can get a replacement remote. My boss's coffee pitcher broke from her coffee pot and she called the company that makes the coffee maker for a replacement...

You should be able to find an universal remote to work, just remember the brand of dvd player you have to make sure that it is compatible. Radio shack or Walmart should have what you need.

Oh! I never thought of trying to get a replacement remote. Thanks, Life, I'll check on that.

Thanks for all the feedback on the remote control. I was able to go to the manufacturer's website and order the exact remote I needed. If I hadn't come here to ask about it, I would have never thought to do that!
Thanks again!

Can't help you with the remote, but to avoid future calamities, have you considered crate training your dog? I've got a lab mix and would be a nervous wreck leaving her uncrated--not so much as the damage I might find when I got home, but because of how she might hurt herself. Electrical cords. Getting sharp objects in her stomach, etc. Stuff like that.

Oh he is a cheeky Fozzie bear...

I wonder what the "Dog Whisperer" would advise...

My naughty new dog chewed a big hole in my
undies in the crotch area...blechhhh...
but I still love him.....
Whenever I leave the house
I wonder what mischief he is up to.

Glad you found another remote.. Dern doggies.. lol
My puppy loves to get into things.. He is teaching me to put my glasses in the desk drawer. Put my shoes in the closet. Keep toilet paper out of reach. And also to keep the remote on top shelf so he can't reach it. I have yet to learn to close the closet doors and desk drawers. The little stinker keeps me on my toes alllll day. And yes, he has his own toys, he just likes to get into things to get my attention. He puts all his treasures that he collects under my desk with the rest of his toys...... Oh yes, he did jump on the table and snatched a hunk of turkey from my son's plate when my son got up to get some ice for his soda. Never a dull moment with puppies..
