I grew up as a very thin girl. I have never been seriously overweight, but back in 1982 I weigh about what I do now. Not overweight but could lose 5 or ten pounds in order to be really slim. I was doing crunches on the mat at a family owned gym when the two owners got right over me and looked down at me and said, "you don't need to work out you need to go on a diet." I call the 80's "The days of anorexia and roses." Now I belong to the Jewish Community Center through my health insurance. Most of the women who go there, many senior citizens are overweight. Even some of the trainers are. At least they are not "thin". Nobody would DARE say anything like that to them. Many of them are not trying to lose weight but exercise. I took a pilates class yesterday and the instructor was a little overweight, more overweight than I am. Most people think I am slim. All but one lady was kind of heavy and definitely did not have a "good figure." No one would DARE say anything to those women about their weight. All of my life except for the years since I have been older people have never hesitated to tell me if I look like I have gained weight or tell me I need to lose weight. One woman said she hated that "healthy look" and that demons gave me my extra little belly. I had a rumor started in high school that I was pregnant since my belly was where I accumulated any fat at all. The company commander in basic training said to me "Put your piece on the part of your body that sticks out the most and for you that is your stomach." I have had boyfriends and husbands give me a serverly hard time about 5 pounds. I am jealous of women who are overweight and no one would dare say anything to them about it and who are successful in their lives and their weight doesn't bother them.

Why is it that some days I feel fatter than other days even when I weight the same. My former boss, who was a real jerk, a man, said "If you feel fat you ARE FAT.

I'm so sorry you've received such negative comments. I can relate to it though. My parents always told me I was fat when I was a few pounds overweight :/
I feel fatter some days than others definitely. I don't weigh myself though, for that reason..It would upset me a lot. I think some people are just more comfortable in their own skin then others.

You are a beautiful young lady. I used to have a fb friend from England, a man who had a page called "Hips and Curves not Skin and Bones." Its photos of beautiful full figured women who are very sexy. I made a post that I don't get hips when I gain weight nor do I get curvy just fatty on my tummy. No matter what I do I could never feel comfortable being large like that. I have actually had people, men and women say I look better, more beautiful and sexy when I am a little heavier. I have seen pictures of myself being very thin and I look awful to me now. I like being fit and healthy without the "school bus driver arms" lol but at age 59 I will not ever be like I was at 20.
