I have lost and gained many pounds over many years. I currently weigh well beyond what is healthy for me and my diabetes. I am considering purchasing any low calorie diet plan that includes pills that will he me. I am desperate.

You might want to check with your doctor first. Diet pills can do weird things, like make you real jittery, increase your metabolism, but then when you go off of them your metabolism might slow down a lot and then you would gain the weight back. Also, really low calorie diets can ruin your metabolism, not sure how low the diet your talking about it is. I'm not trying to be a downer but it sounds a bit dangerous and unhealthy.

I hope you find something that works for you...I have diabetes too and am well over my healthy weight.

Thanks zyekitty. I think my metabolism is already wrecked. I dont think being on 100mg of Seroquel, 4mg of Klonolpin and 100mg Pristiq is helping either. I want to cut those out.

My p'doc is an eating disorder specialist (apart from doing all the normal psych stuff). They have a weekly eating program. I could attend that.

I just feel like a need a kick start......... or a kick some place else. My brother went from being morbidly obese to anorexic. His weight is now normal. I wish I could do the same.

I went from being anorexic to being obese and binge eating. I wish I could go back. I know it's not healthy but I still want to go back so I can be thin again, but now I can't sleep if I don't eat enough or exercise too much. Mostly I wish I could go back in time and prevent myself from binge eating.

Have you talked to your psych doctor about trying topomax? It helps stop the urge to binge, helps you lose weight (I think it speeds up your metabolism), and also helps with anxiety. I was on it for a while, but stopped taking it b/c I made it a few months w/o binging (I do stupid things like that). It didn't have any side effects for me.

I will ask him. Maybe he would be more able to accept the request for Topomax than xenical.....

There are indeed diet pills that work, unfortunately they are going to be either addictive or have serious side effects and as soon as you stop taking the pills you will gain all the weight back. Also more often then not, most are scams and do not work and cost a lot. Before you shell out your money for any "plans" definitely talk to your doctor first!

For me it's all about low carbs...all the diet pills in the world don't help if I binge on the carbs. If you want effective diet pills, ck online about Black Widow!

I was diagnosed with diabetes nearly two years ago. I didnt change my eating habits because it felt like too much on top of the mental issues. Now I am being forced by my own body to see how bad things are getting. I just want to be healthy. I was living on carbs and having the occasional vegetable. It was really bad.

I know I am the only one that can do the work. I have cut the carbs way back to a really small potato yesterday and half a cup of corn the day prior. I am having vegies and protein and water as well. Feeling my way out of the carbs coma.

Given that I still have a lot of chocolate around from christmas maybe it would be kinder to myself to get it out of my house before the horrid PMS binges start. I dont have much money and looking online the price of some diet plans are a bit out of my league.

I don't have a working set of bathroom scales at home and not sure if getting them would help or hinder me. Its too easy to weigh oneself and be discouraged by the fact that you haven't already lost the weight yesterday.

I appreciate all the input from you guys...........

I think it would be best to not get a scale, I find it discouraging to way myself b/c I have so much to lose. The low carb plan sounds good.

I am trying to lose weight too. I saw pdoc's NP in December and at their office they have a protocol to have your weight taken. I have decided not to get on the scale until my next appointment. I will be able to tell if I am making progress by the way my clothes fit. More frequent weighing would probably stress me out.

I am seeing my diabetes technician on the 23/1/14. She will probably weigh me so I should be okay with that. Just knowing how my clothes feel on me will be enough. I think I will just do things my way. Today I danced like no-one was watching...... for five minutes. I am so uncoordinated.

I googled the diet pill Black Widow which ephedrine based. It can do damaged to the heart. So given I have put my own heart under so much stress I will leave it alone.

I wonder what my p'doc will have to say? He is kind to me. Always much kinder than I am to myself.
