I am pre-diabetic, have high blood pressure, cholesterol and all at the ripe old age of 28. Needless to say I'm not in great shape physically.
Since I have been medicated I am no longer actively suicidal but I continue to have very little interest in living so despite the doctor's dire warnings I've never seen much reason to change my habits and get healthier. Honestly, I still don't but I have run into something that I find has curbed my binging. Teeth whitening. I'm doing this by wearing a retainer with teeth bleaching stuff for an hour at night. I can't eat afterwards because apparently the bleach makes my teeth more susceptible to discolouring for the first few hours after using it, which is why the dentist suggested doing it right before bed. I've been doing it somewhat earlier because it seems I am more concerned with ending up with chocolate brown teeth and wasting $500 than I am about my health.

That's great! As a former smoker I totally messed up my teeth beyond the point of no return, but for young people this is a good strategy.

I'm actually whitening my teeth partly as a reward for giving up smoking and partly as a deterrent from taking it up again.
Being a total scrooge I'm not going to whiten my teeth just to mess it up by smoking (or making myself throw up) again.

I'm glad you've found a bit of motivation. A person has to start somewhere!
